My wife saw a Japanese documentary on the subject and what they recommend is a simple exercise that you do once a day.
They recommend saying some words to force the jaw to exercise.
And to replicate that in English, I suggest you say the words "Youuu BADDDDDDDDD" about 30 times. And when you say "BADDDDD", open up your mouth wide and stick your tougue out.
Needless to say, don't do this at the shopping mall... do it in the car while you're driven. It's a great daily way to exercise the tongue, jaw and neck muscles... which should also slow the wrinkling of the neck skin BTW.
Check it out. It works for me because I am less apt to have trouble swallowing.
GO TRUMP!
And some of us just have difficulty in general. In my childhood found that to be true. Thought it might have been due to walking into a very large spider web while my mouth was open, talking, and a portion was swallowed. At times, during my 20s or 30s, eating could be problem as well. Can’t believe this would be anything such as Parkinson because of the different examinations over the past 10 years surely something would have shown its ugly head. Old age? At 20 years old?? Thank you for the exercise suggestion. Will add this to my sit ups while doing sit ups :-)
Interesting. I learned some facial excersices long ago, from a cheapie little book from a thrift store. Hard to describe without illustrations, but I did them for years just for the heckuvit and it felt energizing. I do one still, maybe I’ll try to remember the others too:
Open eyes as wide as possible and raise eyebrows
Open mouth as wide as possible
Stick tonuge out as far as possible
Say AAAAAAHHHHHHHH loudly
repeat
it really sounds like the same exercise.
Oddly enough (???) I have hardly any wrinkles on face or neck despite being in mid 60s. Because I did those exericses? Or at least the last one? Or maybe because I’ve avoided tanning my whole life, with British Isles ancestor skin, the sun and I do not mix well.
