(CNN)Wikileaks founder Julian Assange said Tuesday his whistleblowing website might release "a lot more material" relevant to the US electoral campaign.
Assange was speaking in a CNN interview following the release of nearly 20,000 emails stolen from the Democratic National Committee by suspected Russian hackers. However, Assange refused to confirm or deny a Russian origin for the mass email leak, saying Wikileaks tries to create ambiguity to protect all its sources.
"Perhaps one day the source or sources will step forward and that might be an interesting moment some people may have egg on their faces. But to exclude certain actors is to make it easier to find out who our sources are," Assange told CNN.
The Kremlin has rejected allegations its behind the hacking, calling suggestions it ordered the release of the emails to influence US politics the "usual fun and games" of the US election campaigns.

I have an interesting proposal what if the person who turned in the e- mails is staggering the release of the e-mails because he or she is trying to generate more embarrassing e-mails from others in the DNC one thing criminals cant help but do is communicate so they can get there story’s strait. the last dump of e- mail’s might be the one that were collected at the convention off of Mobil devices reacting to the scandal.
This thread is somehow locked down.
It made the Drudge Headline, surely it warrant frontpage, news and politics here?
how has this guy escaped the Clinton (take care of business) machine so for?
Maybe waiting for Thursday and Hillary’s big night?.....
We need to remember that the Opposition research on Trump was also hacked. No doubt some unhelpful material that has not yet seen the light of day.
In the interest of “fairness”, if and when it’s released the media will go gaga.
Uh. OK.

Hola, Señor Kaine. ¡Bienvenido a FreeRepublic!
Me esposa es Mexicana.
But became a proud American legally last year.
American flags in front and back yard.
Well, the DNC has you beat with patriotism. I hear they have *three* American flags at the convention! I wonder where they found room for them all.
The problem is that he won't deny Russia's involvement. So, he's likely to lose on that issue. Unless he can show another source, people will agree with the experts who are investigating the leak.
The other problem is that people are questioning the accuracy of some of the emails. If the source cannot be identified and won't come forward, there will likely be a cloud over the content of the emails.
Assange should disclose where they came from so that they will have more value.
The only ones I have seen who have meekly questioned the accuracy have been DNC stooges. The independents do not seem to be questioning the accuracy and the Bernie people are worked up over them. The DNC and Obama haven't been doing much denying just trying to distract by blaming the Russians and indirectly Donald Trump for releasing them. That does not seem like a winning argument.
It is all they have. Blame the messenger. The message itself, the e mails, digging in them for confirmation would only bring more light. They cannot risk that.
I used to live in El Paso.
Had lots of Mexican friends, all legal.
A group of us would go to the polls... all straight Republican ticket voters. Conservative Catholics lean repub.
Legal Mexicans don’t care that much for the Godless Dems and their pandering to illegals.
Congrats to your wife on finalizing her citizenship :-)
I live in El Paso and my Mom’s Hispanic caregiver is voting for Trump. She hates the creeps that come over and get free stuff. Ol’e!
We should just paraphrase Ol’ Bernie: “The American people are sick and tired of hearing about those damned Russians! Let’s talk about the real issues — what is in those emails.”
The other problem with this concerns the involvement of the Russians. If they are indeed participating in this election, many people will resent it. In fact, there are many people who might choose to vote in a manner designed to frustrate the efforts of a foreign country like Russia.
I think that the Trump campaign should be very careful about how they handle these issues. I notice that Trump has tweeted an assurance that he has no assets in Russia. That makes sense.
Well then, why didn't they just do this? Their typical response to everything is to deny, deny, deny. For whatever reason in this case they have not done this. I haven't seen anyone claiming they were altered or faked. And the people who matter, the independents, and Bernie supporters do not believe that they have been altered or faked. Obviously Clinton, the DNC, President Obama and the MSM are going to do all they can to wiggle out of this, but I think that you are worrying far more than what is appropriate. This has been very damaging to the DNC convention; if that is all it does, its still a good thing.
