Geraldine Sam, former Mayor of La Marque, TX, told CNN she came to the convention as a Cruz delegate but is leaving as a Trump supporter after Sen. Ted Cruz's address at the RNC Wednesday night. Sam was interviewed by CNN following a contentious meeting between the Texas delegation and Cruz where the former candidate for president doubled down the rhetoric expressed in his speech.

“I suggest he is a dangerous man based upon his actions.
I would not put anything past him.
When people beileve they are saviours, bad things can happen.”
I agree completely. I commented about that creepy smirk he had on his face during his meltdown. It was actually disconcerting.
If I were Heidi, I would be nervous about having the girls around him. I’m serious.
We have all seen stories about people who believe they are “annointed” by God to be a King. Those stories don’t end well.
I was a Cruz supporter until that infamous day when Trump supporters were attacked and violence erupted in Chicago. That was when Cruz blamed Trump for the violence outside his rallies. The violence was clearly not Trump’s making. But, Cruz proved to me that he’d say anything to get what he wants. That is a psychological sickness that I cannot tolerate. At that moment, I saw who and what Cruz really is. He is simply Hildabeast, in drag.
AS for Cruz belatedly endorsing Trump, although Trump was very statesmanlike and said he wouldn’t accept a Cruz endorsement, I’d have said: FU Ted.
I thought the same thing.
That made me choke on my drink! Classic and clearly true.
No no no......I meant it as that was what Obama and Hillary would have been selling to Cruz....’listen Ted, you’ve seen the polls. There’s no way that Trump will beat Hillary in Nov. You would come out better if you don’t endorse Trump. When Hillary gets in, she can appoint you to the Supreme Court in honor of your friend.’
Sorry, at the doc’s office and typing on phone. Was trying to keep my comment short.
Yep. Just like when he finally came up with that lame excuse of "Trump dissed my wife and father".
He came up with that after the TX delegates were having none of his other excuses for not endorsing Trump. I think he finally said it in anger at the delegates and then used his "puppy dog" quote too.
That guy was a LULU!
Cruz is only caving now because he is seeing that his “principled” stand is imploding and his political career is about to go dead and out.
I am convinced that Ted has no principles. It is likely why he and Beck get along so well.
Lots of people see through him now. His minions like Deace and Levin are trying to hold onto anything to report to save his hide. But the reality is this that a huge number of his supporters have washed their hands.
All is forgiven....whew...had my blood pressure through the roof on that one...
Buddies again?
What Cruz did was foolhardy. He is just as delusional as Hildy and OBooBoo.
The only reason Cruz would endorse Trump is to try to salvage his career if possible so he could later say “I was the bigger man and endorsed Trump”.
By Trump already cutting off that opportunity for Cruz by saying he would accept an endorsement if it came, it not only rubs salt in the wound, it keeps Trump from looking weak or like he needs Cruz and his ilk (he doesn’t and they both know it) and it prevents Cruz from being able to use an endorsement as his own self serving political capital.
“The only reason Cruz would endorse Trump is to try to salvage his career if possible so he could later say I was the bigger man and endorsed Trump”
I think that too.
I heard also that the new York delegates turned their backs on crooze.
I wonder how many others did the same as delegate Sam and the New York delegates?
****
I saw that person being interviewed on TV after the breakfast with the Texas delegation.
As to your question about the New York delegation, it may be in the thread below. My understanding is that it wasn’t until Cruz made the comment to the NY delegation, and then the all the delegates booed Cruz while Trump appeared. Perfect timing!
Rush contends that this was the master Trump at work, of course this was before Trump had his press conference today in which he said that Trump did have Cruz’s speech, but the Cruz added (ad lib).

Now, Cruz today, did you hear what happened after it was over? He tried to get into the skybox, the suite of the casino magnate, Sheldon Adelson, and they wouldn’t let him in. They told him to go away. You’re not welcome. You can’t get in here after doing what you did.

And there was some people on the floor. I think it was just one person, but the Drive-Bys are reporting it that it was a mob. There was one person that shouted at Heidi Cruz, “Goldman Sachs! Goldman Sachs!” as the security had to hustle her out of the arena. But Cruz showed up at the breakfast meeting of the Texas delegation today, and what happened there raised the curtain on what this is all about. Cruz took questions.
The questions from the delegates kept coming. Some of the answers the delegates were not satisfied by. Some of the answers the delegates did not accept. The delegates kept pounding. The delegates kept probing. The delegates kept demanding more from Cruz. The answers he was giving were not satisfactory. They were upset with what had happened. It shouldn’t have been the case. They wanted unity out in front.
They were hoping that Cruz would endorse. They wanted the mood to be set. They wanted the continued trend in the uplift direction — which has been taking place all week — to a giant crescendo tonight with Trump’s speech. And they didn’t get it. And it was their guy that made this happen. So they kept asking, and they kept asking, and finally Cruz cannot withhold the truth any longer. Paraphrasing, he said, “You really expect me to be a servile puppy dog to a man who insulted my wife and accused my dad of being part of the JFK assassination?”
And when Cruz said that — when Cruz told the Texas delegation that he would not be servile, would not be a good puppy dog and support the guy who maligned his wife and father — then in my mind, he kind of unwound everything else he had said the night before. He just... Under the intense probing of the Texas delegation, he couldn’t keep that in any longer, couldn’t withhold it any longer.
That question from the Texas delegation lit the fuse that caused the explosion where Ted Cruz finally admitted what that speech last night was all about and why he’s not gonna endorse Trump. “Because I don’t care...” These are his words, paraphrased by me. “I don’t care what the hell else is going on. I am not gonna compromise every damn principle I have and every belief I have and I’m not gonna look the other way at a guy who accused my dad of having something to do with the assassination of JFK.

He lost even more vote when he held that stupid meeting with the Texas delegation.
Now he’s got his attack dog out there saying he may still endorse Trump but just not right now. I read Trump said he won’t accept the endorsement.
It’s also now official that he told another lie when he turned in his speech then went off teleprompter for 9 minutes. The man apparently can’t tell the truth.
There was an oath on TV. Then there was a signed pledge. Trump could NOT possible break either since he won.
