FR brothers and sisters, this thread is for all the Ted Cruz supporters.
I'm a proud Texan, and ashamed of Ted Cruz. I am supporting the Trump / Pence ticket all the way. This experiment in a republic form of government with limited federal controls will not survive a Hillary presidency. I believe in my heart that Trump will be a transformational president. The good he'll do will outlive his Trump Towers.
As for Ted, I don't think he'll win another election here in the great state of Texas. That being said, there are FReepers who still support Ted. I'd like to hear from you. Why are you still defending or supporting Ted? What about this man and his behavior still draws your support for him at the cost of our republic. Because, that's what at stake in this election.

Hating on Cruz and his supporters at this point is like having a school yard fight and the one boy who got beaten by the the other boy getting beat up again by the mob of kids who were watching because they have devolved into their base animal instincts “lord of the flies” style.
It is pointless and it removes one’s own humanity.

Errr, not always the case. I was split on Cruz and Trump during the primary. I did vote for Cruz... but only a few days after that Cruz did something asinine, and well - I’ve been a full Trump supporter since.
(Can’t remember what it was - but it was something where he dissed Trump rather underhandedly. A lot like yesterday.)
Are you saying there wasn’t a purge of #NeverTrump supporters in late March through April?

I was a Cruz supporter, but more importantly, my goal is to have Hillary fade away into history. I was never anti-Trump and now he is the nominee, I support him fully.
I never liked the bile Trump and Cruz supporters threw at each other here, still don’t like it.

Trump made Cruz, The Bushes and Kasich look like two year olds. There is no way that Cruz will be able to run for POTUS in 2016.

Cruz standing back and saying nothing about his supporters attacking Melania as a prostitute was also uncalled for.
I’ve been a Cruz supporter (I think he’s a principled conservative, although I’ve always found him personally unlikable) and I’m conflicted about what he did last night.
If I were him, I think I just wouldn’t have gone to the convention, although I think Kasich was wrong for not being at the convention in his own state. I don’t think Cruz owes the party anything, or Trump for that matter. If he went out and endorsed Trump he’d be viewed as a phony and disingenuous because nobody would believe him.
I know I’m in the minority but I don’t have a problem with what he did.

David Dewhurst is probably salivating at the opportunity to run against Cruz. “Do Worst” is slimier than Cruz. The Texas GOP needs to recruit a solid candidate to run in the 2018 primary against Cruz. Hope we can do better than “Do Worst” and Rick Perry.
