FR brothers and sisters, this thread is for all the Ted Cruz supporters.
I'm a proud Texan, and ashamed of Ted Cruz. I am supporting the Trump / Pence ticket all the way. This experiment in a republic form of government with limited federal controls will not survive a Hillary presidency. I believe in my heart that Trump will be a transformational president. The good he'll do will outlive his Trump Towers.
As for Ted, I don't think he'll win another election here in the great state of Texas. That being said, there are FReepers who still support Ted. I'd like to hear from you. Why are you still defending or supporting Ted? What about this man and his behavior still draws your support for him at the cost of our republic. Because, that's what at stake in this election.
So you think that Lyin Ted has that much sway with the public? Sorry but Im not into conspiracies...
Cruz is trying to sow discord within the party/conservatives and is hoping it is enough to give the election to Hillary.
You think that requires a "conspiracy"? That's just Cruz putting himself first - as always.
“Trump never said a damn thing about Cruzs wife. Stop repeating Cluzlims lies.”
That’s right. He only said Cruz’s father was part of the JFK assassination.
Regardless, I was a Cruz supporter, up until he ended his speech. At that moment he was dead to me. Cruz gave one of the most powerful political speeches in decades. Instead of biting the bullet, he chose to eat his gun. This morning, people have no idea what he said last night, but they know what he didn’t say.
Trump picked, by all accounts, a true conservative for his running mate that should be enough to carry that wing of the party to the voting booth.
Trump picked, by all accounts, a true conservative for his running mate that should be enough to carry that wing of the party to the voting booth.
I agree. That doesn't mean that Cruz will stop trying to sow seeds of discord though.
I think the short answer is that there aren’t many Cruz supporters. Most people have recognized Ted Cruz for the tragically flawed figure that he is.
They have been reassigned to Team Hillary and are out campaigning for her.
“I can not blame him for not endorsing Trump with the smears Trump started and ended with.”
Any “smears” by Trump were defensive — after Cruz took the first shot. It’s what he said he would do, and he did.
Beyond that, is a smear worth losing our freedom over? Answer: No; it isn’t.
“How could someone with political principles give money to the Democrat party?”
How could someone with political principles — ANY principles — assist Hillary in her presidential campaign? Cruz is doing that. And you talk about “principles”?
Heh heh . . . it’s better that way!
Moral of the story? At least “they” didn’t buy a used car from him . . . and WE didn’t buy him!!
LOL!
Why do you ask?
Trump is the official nominee. The vast majority of voters who understand our founding principals and have even a vague idea of what a Hillary presidency would do to this country will vote for him.
Two imperfect men who both love their country (And, yes, Cruz is just as much an American as Melania Trump and every other legal citizen.) and who love their families, have both said and done things they should not have.
Humility is NOT weakness. For the sake of this Nation and to ensure that their respective gifts are used to serve her, they both need to stop this stand-off. Trump knew what Cruz would do, expected it, because I believe he would have done the same if the situations were reversed.
For months, both sides on this site have hammered each other. Sometimes accusations have been made against each candidate that the simplest research would have disproven. There’s some of that in the comments in this very thread.
It’s true that many Cruz supporters have been banned, left on their own, or simply stopped engaging in discussions. We’re deluding ourselves if we don’t understand that we need unity and every vote we can muster to keep HRC out of the White House. We don’t have a Washington or a Reagan to inspire us this time but it is imperative that we reflect on the values and tone they used to lead this Nation through desperate, dangerous times.
Enough already. let’s stop battering each other and focus on electing Trump/Pence in November. While we’re squabbling, who’s watching Hilliary and her minions?
“Where are the Cruz Supporters on FR?
They (nearly two hundred) got banned, suspended “for the duration,” or left on their own for greener pastures at The GOP Briefing Room forum, permanently abandoning this Trump echo chamber.”
Seems you are correct, including yourself- Timber Rattler?

I’m still here, but my posts have to be approved and I don’t have any explanation of what is or is not allowed... so you may or may not hear from people in my situation.
Hopefully after November, we will have president Trump and a more unified and pleasant FreeRepublic.
Well, the tweet “A Picture is worth a 1000 Words” sort of implied the insult, no? And then he also said, “I will spill the beans on Heidi”
All in all, most anyone with a fair opinion decided and wrote that Trump was making a very unwise attack on Cruz’s wife.
Then he followed up with an attack on Cruz’s father. And, you know, his father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswalds being you know, shot. I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous. What is this, right, prior to his being shot, and nobody brings it up. They dont even talk about that.”
And didn’t he say something about Cruz’s kids as well?
I don’t think he missed anyone in the family, all of whom are usually off-limits in political fights.
Well, we are stuck with him, warts and all, but I don’t blame Cruz for staying outraged at the gratuitous attacks on his family.
I now support Donald Trump.
I will not say or do ANYTHING that will improve Hillary's chances of winning the election. There is too much at stake here.
"Ceterum censeo Hillary esse delendam."

No, but I thought a Canadian like him might.
This is sick. I do not see winners kicking a man who is down.
Ted ran a dirty campaign and got called out. His present behavior is a very clear echo of the Ted Cruz of this early video . Ted chose to thumb his nose at the faces of the convention goers yesterday and at the GOP party and he deserves the flak he is taking. He is trying to damage the party front runner because he didn't win while ignoring the damage it will do to the country if Hillary is elected. In other words if I can win no Republican can and I'm going to see to it.
