I believe it is Trump's obligation, as the victor, to be the bigger man and do his part to heal the rift in the party, regardless of who one believes to be fault. That's just the way these things work. The victor must be a good winner.
Here's what he should work into his speech:
"You know, I've always enjoyed watching Ted Cruz take it to the powers-that-be in Washington. He's a man of deep conservative principles --- and a complete pain in the ass.
I don't enjoy it much when he's a pain in my ass.
But he's OUR pain in the ass.
And he's right about one thing in particular --- and said the most important thing you've heard at this convention --- vote for the man who will uphold the Constitution, believes in liberty and freedom, and who will return this fine country to greatness.
Well, I give my word to Ted, and I give my word to you. Indeed, I swear by G-d, on my life and the life of my children and grandchildren, that I will uphold the Constitution. I believe in liberty and freedom, and I will return this fine country to greatness."
The result would be a healing of the rift, the NeverTrumpers would shut up, and Cruz and Trump could work together, which they will need to do.

Heh! And somehow, it’s now somehow incumbent on Trump to go out looking for Cruz, offer him a big bear hug, and make amends with the little nimrod. Somehow, that will make things all nicey-nice.

Trump did NOT create your so called RIFT, and that RIFT cuts across party lines, race, religion, economy, and the gods of government. What the 20% demonstrate is they intend to have their way and we the people will get made destitute if that is what it takes. They have been party to taking our blood and treasury so their bank accounts can be enlarged. WHAT IS YOUR PRICE?
One doesn’t necessarily have to fight so hard having arrived at the top of the hill, than when climbing it.
You kind of forget to stick to the grace of God if you think He has already promised you whatever you can name and claim.
To promise people salvation is dangerous enough. They may think that enough to not want to go very far and they will be minor figures in heaven. The promise is given so that in the worst of situations there is still a hope to turn to. But not with the intention that we should wallow in the worst without end.
Very true... we cannot bow to adamant selfishness. That would sabotage the greatness that we would aspire to bring America back to.

No they don’t. Trump doesn’t need Cruz.
At this point - after last night, and today's appearances - Cruz is effectively antimatter to the Trump campaign. The same with any hangers-on to the cult that is Cruz's ever-shrinking coterie of hard-core supporters. Were Trump to reach out and begin compromising with this group, he would in effect begin repelling supporters he already has.
God has already told humanity that it is pretty silly for them to refuse His love
