CLEVELAND -- So the speech on the first night of the Republican National Convention that "everyone is talking about" was Melania Trump's endorsing her husband's candidacy, which appeared to have lifted passages from Michelle Obama's speech endorsing her husband's candidacy eight years ago.

“What difference, at this point, does it make?”
The thing i remember most about first Mooch is she said her husbands nomination was the first time she was proud to be an American....so unless Melania said something like that...the rest is a pile of bovine fecal material like all things Obama and it won’t change a single vote...remember the brainiac of the Democratic party...Vice President Joe Biden said of plagarism:”everybody does it”
So liberals go to the laundry and get your wadded panties undone and cleaned out you are about ready to be taken to the cleaners by the Trump Train!
Nothing with Trump is accident. I actually think he planned it. His MO has always been to create controversy so that’s all everyone talks about. People are going to be comparing Melenia with the Wookie all day. Otherwise, she would have gone by mostly unnoticed.
She did a masterful job in the delivery. And that is all being lost to using some words that Michelle used in '08. Someone posted a link that Michelle had used some words that Mrs. Trump used from an Alinksy speech. Bad enough it's a first lady from the opposing party. Now using Alinky's words?
Even IBD is saying someone needs to pay for this.
The speech was long but apparently a couple of clichés were similar to Obamas. Here are the relevant passages.
Ms. Trump, Monday night:
From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise, that you treat people with respect. They taught and showed me values and morals in their daily lives. That is a lesson that I continue to pass along to our son. And we need to pass those lessons on to the many generations to follow. Because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.
Mrs. Obama, in her 2008 speech:
Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say youre going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you dont know them, and even if you dont agree with them. And Barack and I set out to build lives guided by these values, and pass them on to the next generation. Because we want our children and all children in this nation to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.
Ms. Trump:
I was born in Slovenia, a small, beautiful and then-Communist country in Central Europe. My sister, Ines, who is an incredible woman and a friend, and I were raised by my wonderful parents. My elegant and hard-working mother, Amalija, introduced me to fashion and beauty. My father, Viktor, instilled in me a passion for business and travel. Their integrity, compassion and intelligence reflects to this day on me and for my love of family and America.
Mrs. Obama, in 2008:
And I come here as a daughter raised on the South Side of Chicago by a father who was a blue-collar city worker and a mother who stayed at home with my brother and me. My mothers love has always been a sustaining force for our family, and one of my greatest joys is seeing her integrity, her compassion and her intelligence reflected in my own daughters.
This was all the Morning Joe show talked about today- the plagiarism.
If others watched the show, did you happen to notice that Mike Barnicle was not present in any segment when Melania’s “plagiarism” was the topic ?
Now, all of us who have been hoping and praying for the time when Trump gets to engage with Hillary are seeing what we've wanted for so long, and that was just the first day.
Today, the Dems are trying to come to terms with the fact that they have left their "safe space" and are now swimming in the shark tank. I can smell the fear.
And Melania will definitely be a better first lady than Bill Clinton.
You can’t plagiarize clichés
LOL, BBC is saying that this the only thing America is talking about ,they mean Liberal press and Democrats
I think so, too. He’s trying to gauge how the MSM reacts so he knows how to deal with them once the real campaign season starts in earnest after the Democratic National Convention next week.
Perhaps a cliche, but that statement by Melania Trump below is the basic statement of the American Dream
“Because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.”
As the basic mission statement of the American dream, it should be repeated by everyone, everyday -Michelle Obama and Melania Trump included.
The bid difference is I think Melania was reasonably sincere, Michelle Obama , not so much
so all the speeches are being recorded and run threw a computer to find similar words
THAT is the exactly the response Trump’s spokespeople and surrogates need to cram down the MSM’s throats at every opportunity.
Correct: Profiles in Courage comes to mind
or one of the other five languages she speaks...
Moochele can barely screech in English.
You’re right! Isn’t using the talking points the left sends out for everyone to copy just a form of plagiarism?
I have the same feeling myself. It was just too quick after her speech for the Lame Stream Media to discover this "coincidence". They are not smart enough to remember Mooch's speech let alone their last pot purchase.
Even Reagan used speech writers....just ask Peggy noonan
Excellent remark. This needs to be tossed in their faces. “Isnt using the talking points the left sends out for everyone to copy just a form of plagiarism?”
