OK, so I'm sitting here listening to C2C and I hear this kind of brushing or slamming on my front porch. I know whatever it is, it's pretty big, might be human, might be bigfoot!
So I get ready (meaning well armed), turn on my front light and look - there doesn't seem to be anything there... then a black lab that kinda hangs around the neighborhood jumps on me, I almost blow her to bits!
Well I gave her some chicken bones and dog biscuits I have tied her up, now she's whining a bit and I might have to let her go or maybe put her in my backyard until morning, I know who owns her but feel pretty stupid knocking on their door at 2 AM...
anyways, hell, she DID scare the wiggies out of me!
No doubt they can digest the bones, but the issue of swallowing a splintered/sharp bone remains.
Had a late night critter at my home. More of a scratching noise on the door than a banging/knocking. Turned on the light and saw a raccoon working on my door, trying to get in.
Animal control not working late at night, police came and the critter waddled (very fat) after the police. They retreated, got in their car and slowly drove out of the neighborhood. . .followed by a waddling raccoon.
Don’t know for sure what happened but did hear a single ‘pop’ then nothing.
Only two of them are the originals. I used to watch them years ago when my sons were small.
“Fruit salad!
Yummy, Yummy....”
LOL! I like that story.
Thanks for the laugh!
You sure it was a real dog?
It could have been an alien like that dog in “The Thing”.........
How do we know you have not been infected and are now a alien?
It is good your wiggies were scared out. The presence of wiggies in the colon is often a precurser to pancreatic cancer.
Three weeks ago at 3:00 AM somebody knocked on our door. We jumped up guns and flashlights in hand but whoever it was took off. Then a week later at 5:30AM somebody rang the door bell of my Mom’s house across the street. She called and we went charging over there. Nobody around. What we learned last week is the night of the knock on our door somebody broke into the vacant rental next door and stole the copper pipe, wiring and ceiling fans. !likely illegals stealing stuff to sell at the recycle center.
Yes, the policeman talked about burglars knocking for empty houses. What I needed was djf’s black lab to give a big bark - all I had was two sleepy cats running from the bedroom to see what’s up, lol.
“Best bones are beef leg bones, raw. Cooking makes them brittle and sharp.”
=
You can get good ones for dawgs from the local butcher, I’d bet dollars to donuts that he’s probably an expert on that request.
Yes we believe they knock to see if anybody is there looking for an empty house. Our dog was on the back of the couch frothing at the mouth out the window. LOL!
Don’t give dogs chicken bones. They splinter when chewed and shards get caught in the dog’s mouth and throat.
djf was thoughtful in taking in a neighbor’s pooch before it wandered off. I suspect he’s heard enuf warnings re:chicken bones already and it seems the dawg in question is doing fine.
“Possession is 9/10 of the law!”
Well I finally got around to it and strolled down to my neighbors to check if the mutt was ok... I could hear them inside saying “Get the dog! Get the dog!” before they opened the door.
She opened the door and the first one out was the mutt, ecstatic to see me. She was grateful and the dog was fine.
I had let her out of my backyard finally this morning about 6 AM but she just hung around on my porch till after I fell asleep.
Anyways, to all the chicken-bone deniers:
I never lost one yet!
;-)
Good for you and the wandering canine!
What a beauty!
