Either way, the crew was negligent with a commercial aircraft carrying passengers, and Gutfield was right to mock their performance. “Asleep on the job” is a broad expression that is not always meant literally, just as saying a bad performer was “out to lunch” does not literally mean they went to eat lunch.

Gutless >assumed< before all the facts were known; he ridiculed. He’s an A$$. He made it perfectly clear that the pilots were asleep based on reports before the fact. Asleep, not out to lunch. Okay??
