I remember several years ago, when I was a shuttle driver, and this middle-aged black woman got in my van and spent the entire trip to the airport espousing democrat beliefs and opinions. She remarked, “I don’t see how anyone who makes less than $14,000 a year could EVER vote Republican”.
I wanted to say, “Because people who make $14,000 a year eventually want to make MORE than $14,000 a year, and Republicans can make that happen!”. But, if I did, I’d have been fired.
