Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade, and LeBron James made a strong statement at the ESPYs (via @cjzero on Twitter).
The most recent wave of race-related shootings in the United States chiefly the police killing of Alton Sterling in Louisiana, the police killing of Philando Castile in Minnesota, and the shooting deaths of five police officers at a Black Lives Matter rally in Dallas last week have inspired several recent cases of increased political consciousness for black athletes. Members of the WNBAs Minnesota Lynx have made the most controversial statement so far in donning Black Lives Matter t-shirts that caused four off-duty police officers to walk off the job at Target Center during one of the teams games, but many other athletes have at least weighed public statements on continued violence and the diminishment of black lives in American culture.

What’s an “ESPY?”
Chris Paul? Very disappointed. Will State Farm drop him?
“What 5 dead cops?”
I agree. Elect Donald Trump, deport 12 million illegal alien criminals, arrest all the BLM leaders, fill all those FEMA camps they planned to imprison Conservatives, with Leftists.....then, we’ll be back to America being a Shining City on a Hill.

The four basketball nitwits mentioned no dead cops by name. Just black athletes, black thugs, and one white lesbian.

Oh, well - what can we expect from four LIVs who probably voted for the current President (aka the most racist President in history).
....what would happen if just 50% of white folk boycotted the NBA?
..talking fans there
The most unnecessary award show on Earth!
I just saw this. It was not overtly political...just a call to athletes to use their celebrity to speak out against violence and help their communities. Not left or right but slightly naive.
and seriously, after honoring that idiot Jenner over the wonderful young woman with brain cancer who still played BB, what did we expect of this “espee” crap....
