Well, I’m working at keeping the car less of a hobby, and more of an oft-used epicenter of family fun. “Hobby” would be something more like doing a full frame-off restoration, and the time, nor the money, are in the cards for that.

If I were in an urban setting such as you describe, I think I’d be indulging an interest in model railroad. I’ve seen a couple of really inspired works in Z Scale done up inside of glass-topped coffee tables such as you may have seen: drawerless box-type tables with — essentially — a hinged window for a top to allow infrequent access to the curios placed inside for viewing-but-not-touching.

Last time I went to a Spectator Drag I was driving a stock ‘72 Ford F-250 Camper Special that ran VERY consistent 19.01’s: like 19.018, 19.019. I could have done it all day without breaking out.

Sadly I was a bit green and dialed it in at 19.0 on the windshield, or I could have walked away with the Big Prize. As it was, I got beat by just 0.007 in the second heat. I think the guy who eventually won the day was driving an Aerostar, of all things.

Wow! I drove a ‘63 Chevy II Nova when it was still street legal, and it was an awesome experience. I then understood why racing is so addictive.

Nowadays, it is running in the 10.2’s, and of course, has nothing in the interior but the seat and the electronics. But it is a beauty. I’ll see if I can find a pic for you.

I miss the races. :o[

I walk the dog and do Bible study when not dodging liberals smoking pot or trying to collect signatures for some cause or other.

...I went to Weight Watchers for the first time in a month. Gah...

I know that feeling. I seem to be teeter-tottering between what I weigh and what I want to weigh, and it's discouraging at times.

If I walked for an hour, it would cause such a relapse I would be down for a week or more. And of course, I'm wondering what I'll be able to do in Cabot.

I want to go to a thrift store or two and look for Nativities, but I don't know how much I'll be able to save from payday. That trip is coming on the downhill slide from the bank. *sigh* No wonder I'm not looking forward to it.

Kid monster has designs on taking your wheels?
Uh oh.
She doesn’t happen to have a lead foot, does she?

Those are very good “hobbies” as well.

Look up a book called “Growing In Prayer” by Mike Bickle. You’ll find another worthwhile “hobby” very well expounded.

LOL!

We bought the car on the narrative that she was going to buy us out later on. We all like the car; she LOVES the car. I like the idea of her having some strong incentive to make something happen for herself.

True, that is quite the incentive.

Tom and I had no wait, but the poll was busy. It’s a big precinct; however, we had an early-voting site very nearby for the last several weeks.

I’ve never been so lucky. But we DID have one poster, back in the day, named “Asphalt” who smelled good, but spammed 100 posts to get the one he wanted. Come to find out, he was a kid who was very prone to throwing tantrums when he was reprimanded. And that happened a lot, until he was banned.

When I voted last Monday, there was “a line,” but it moved along very quickly, so I really didn’t have to wait. I ran into a couple of seniors who had never been in NV during an election year, so I had to give them a crash course, such as “no ID required, but maybe next time.”

They found that hard to believe.

“Stuffed and mounted”
:D
She sits there gazing out of the window.
But you can’t see it for everything else stuffed in around it.
A beautiful building completely unfit for purpose.

The B52 needs to be suspended from the ceiling , this would make it possible to actually see the other exhibits.
They keep moving stuff around in there, but the B52 and B29 need a building of their own.
