Pluto isn't quite as lonely as scientists had thought.
Astronomers have discovered another dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt, the ring of icy objects beyond Neptune. But this newfound world, dubbed 2015 RR245, is much more distant than Pluto, orbiting the sun once every 700 Earth years, scientists said. (Pluto completes one lap around the sun every 248 Earth years.)
"The icy worlds beyond Neptune trace how the giant planets formed and then moved out from the sun," discovery team member Michele Bannister, of the University of Victoria in British Columbia, said in a statement. "They let us piece together the history of our solar system."
...
The exact size of 2015 RR245 is not yet known, but the researchers think it's about 435 miles (700 kilometers) wide. Pluto is the largest resident of the Kuiper Belt, with a diameter of 1,474 miles (2,371 km).
The research team first spotted 2015 RR245 in February of this year, while poring over images that the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope in Hawaii took in September 2015 as part of the ongoing Outer Solar System Origins Survey (OSSOS).
"There it was on the screen this dot of light moving so slowly that it had to be at least twice as far as Neptune from the sun," Bannister said.

Wow. If I only had $35,000 + in spare change....
I just came in from outside, where Epic Fail Latino Lawn Service is hard at work, chasing after the HUGH mowers. Skinny little men (not Latino, this time) were trying so hard to keep up with the darn things. Even the mail carrier said, “Dude! Eat a burger!”
Zeke caught up with me at the ramada and asked if I would revise the budget for the non-existent resident council. I don’t know why, because we haven’t seen any of that money since the council was suspended in April, about two weeks after the swearing in of the new officers, who subsequently submitted letters of resignation.
And we have been doing fine without the Suits at SNRHA.
My turkey pot pie is ready. Maybe I will get some more of them on payday.
I had a nap. Now I’m working on supper. We all have to leave at 5:30 for Kathleen’s swimming lesson.
But you don’t have to have it all at once, see. That’s the thing.
I thought pot pies were only legal in Colorado.
I made brownies. I will frost them in the morning.
The barometer is off the charts this afternoon, and I will have to have more Ibuprofen before I can go lie down. I try to ignore the pain as long as possible, but days like this, that’s pretty difficult.
I saw bunch of bathing suits on sale in one of the catalogs but even the cheapest (60% off) were too steep for me, even on payday. Maybe when I get to St George. I love the pool there.
So this is probably one of my last posts until morning.
Even small change is hard to come by...my little frog bank has $7+ and it’s been a year since I started to save change to it. I just don’t use cash much, except to get quarters for laundry.
So I don’t think I can live long enough to save up enough for even the right front fender. :o|
Pot pies may be, but these are TURKEY pot pies — made from real turkeys, not real pot!
“I got it one piece at a time ...”
Back from the pool. Tom is showing his objection to washing dishes by playing loud, annoying music about the Soviet Union. Funny that he didn’t put up a snit about eating pizza.
Scrooge McDuck and Wonder Woman were my childhood role models!
Awww....Squee!!! <3
Morning.
Good morning.
I just heard on the news that Nevada will require IDs to vote the election in November!! YAY! I’ve been waiting for this!
We passed that, too, but it was overturned by the Federal courts. Of course, Nevada is not in the South, which may make a difference.
Here's a presentation of handmade soaps for that special someone. Be surecto read the label sides.

Very clever!
“Is that your reserve book?” asked Kathleen.
Did you only get one? Thought you had 5 of six set aside.
Relax with a hot soak, pink drink, and some of that special mom soap when you get a chance.
I did get five. I’m #23 on the waiting list for the last one. It’s okay: I am patient.
