Pluto isn't quite as lonely as scientists had thought.
Astronomers have discovered another dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt, the ring of icy objects beyond Neptune. But this newfound world, dubbed 2015 RR245, is much more distant than Pluto, orbiting the sun once every 700 Earth years, scientists said. (Pluto completes one lap around the sun every 248 Earth years.)
"The icy worlds beyond Neptune trace how the giant planets formed and then moved out from the sun," discovery team member Michele Bannister, of the University of Victoria in British Columbia, said in a statement. "They let us piece together the history of our solar system."

The exact size of 2015 RR245 is not yet known, but the researchers think it's about 435 miles (700 kilometers) wide. Pluto is the largest resident of the Kuiper Belt, with a diameter of 1,474 miles (2,371 km).
The research team first spotted 2015 RR245 in February of this year, while poring over images that the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope in Hawaii took in September 2015 as part of the ongoing Outer Solar System Origins Survey (OSSOS).
"There it was on the screen — this dot of light moving so slowly that it had to be at least twice as far as Neptune from the sun," Bannister said.

Mostly sleepless night, and I find I’m grinding my teeth again. And something bit me on the left forearm. Grrrrr.
If things go as planned in Utah, I will have to buy all new pants next spring, because what I have are still growing on me. I have mixed emotions about that. :o| The shirts and tops I can probably hang onto for a while, as I like them loose, so my range of motion isn’t restricted.
But the pants? Do not look good with no big backside in them. Maybe I’ll go back to wearing men’s jeans. Maybe. And boots. Cowboy boots again.

I didn’t sleep as well as I’d hoped, given how tired I was. DP and I saw the Gipsy Kings last night. They were spectacular! It looked like two of the original Gipsy Kings, once young men but now 60-ish, a couple of 40-ish men (sons or nephews), and some youngsters (20s) who played flamenco rhythm guitar non-stop for nearly two hours. They must have been exhausted!
Our local upper-crust Latinos were out in force, whooping and getting down. Very much fun!
I used to have an album of Flamenco music, and boy! Could I ever clean house when that was playing!!
I plan to be as new a me as I can possibly make, and I’m SO looking forward to it!
I had some really odd dreams last night, one concerning some of my neighbors that Just. Made. No. Sense. I was glad to wake up from THAT one, though I think the total amount of Z’s amounted to about four hours. Maybe four and a half.
Still, I’m OK. I think. If I had some Mad Money I’d go to Wally’s and look for some clothes on sale, just to provide diversion. Or get a tub and some tape and some boxes...
