Right now, the only thing I am planning on is the trip to the bank for quarters. Everything else will be played by ear, and the day will fall out accordingly.
Not even sure about the trip to the bank. I may wait until tomorrow, if I don’t feel better soon.
The good thing is, I’m here!
We went to the bank and the library.
I just remembered that this is Thursday, and the Farmer’s Market is going strong in downtown Henderson. That means access to the bank I was going to go to is limited. However, there is another bank on the long way to Walmart that I can go to, if I feel up to it.
I’m very cold this morning, but that doesn’t surprise me, being a little on the puny side and all.
And I have almost solved the hummingbird feeder dilemma:

Ah, yes. We have some of those. Sometimes they have plants hanging on them. You can get them at Walmart or a hardware store.
James and Sally have forgotten a lot of what they learned from algebra earlier this year. Lots of drill will need to be done.
Next time I go to Walmart, I’ll check the price and availability. I checked online but Walmart won’t allow them to be ordered online for pickup in the store. It’s just as well, since customer service-pickup isn’t until 1000. At least if they have them in the store I can buy them when I have the money as they are similarly priced to Amazon.
As a lark, I opened the curtains in the living room. I had had them closed against the light and heat of summer, but I don’t know if it will make much difference in the long run. I kept the lights down to a single lamp over the computer for the same reason, but I’m tired of always being in the dark!
Being out of bananas and finding the pineapple cups were beyond their pull date, I fell back on an old standby for my stomach, figuring if it can help ulcers, it can help this, too: cayenne pepper in about 2 oz of water. We shall see. So far, so good, but I sure am tired! LOL!
Hope it works! I’m going to put gas in the car for Tom. Then he and Bill are going to move the living room furniture so I can clean under it.
I’m going to go out and sit with Charlie. No one else is apt to come out, as LuDean is gone, and Chuck sleeps all day and then can’t figure out why he can’t sleep at night.
Besides: I need to warm up.
I once heard an evangelist speak by the name of Dave Roever (IIRC) who had a phosphor grenade explode on him during the Viet Nam police action. After lots of reconstructive surgery he could give his testimony but he didn't look beautiful.
He told us he was the only person who truly played piano by ear. Then he pulled the plastic shell off his ear and plunked out a tune with it.
“Why are all the boys stuck to the ceiling? No, that’s a stupid question ... HOW are all the boys stuck to the ceiling?”
BOY, did I need that LOL today.
Happy to oblige!
Spent awhile these past few days trying to find out whether this is for real:

See, that’s not a $7,700 car; that’s a $27,700 car. At least.
Still, you occasionally find people selling things for pennies on the dollar for one reason or another: ignorance of what they’re selling, vengeance against an ex — it takes all kinds. So, I ran it down.
Yeah, it’s a complete scam.
Supposed seller claims to be a photog for National Geographic who’s on assignment out of the country until early next year.
His email cites this URL:
national-geographic.us
A quick look at “View Page Source” should elicit a laugh from the knowledgeable.
Anyway, supposedly Pop died, son has NO interest in what Dad’s trusty steed is really worth (though obviously if any of this story were at all true, the car would have been the old man’s pride and joy), so he’s liquidating it.
Now, being out of the country on assignment, he wants to arrange the transfer of title through “Express Logistic & Shipping.”
http://www.logistic-shipping.com/
I’m to go online and Register with this company, then send them the money for the car, then they’ll put my payment in an escrow account, then ship the car out to me, then I get a week to make sure I want to keep it, and then they’ll release my payment to the seller.
Supposedly.
Nevermind that the logistics company’s landline number seems tied to a Dollar Rent-a-car location in Portland, and their FAX number ties back to whois data for umpteen different domains:
globetransport-ltd.com ostensibly in Houston, TX
pizzade.net over in Istanbul
artiligayrimenkul.com also the same crew in Istanbul
Oh, THESE are interesting:
publicdomainregistry.com located at F/20, Business Centre 1,RAK Free Trade Zone, Ras al-Khaimah Ras al-Khaimah 16113 AE But — hey — the FAX number is the same.
and
lifelinebraincures.com registered by Domainshype.com, Inc ( tldadmin@directi.com ) F/19, RAK FTZ, P.O Box #16113 Ras Al Khaimah AE
...as well as a smattering of companies:
https://www.logicboxes.com/support/
http://eu.directi.com/contact/
It just goes on and on and on...
So I’m going to just plague this guy for as long as humanly possible. Anyone who’d like an online cat toy to swat around at will, feel free to join in the plagueage.
Haz funz!
I’ll leave the scammers to better torturers like yourself.
I thought it was something political since just reading your first URL I saw “clinton” and KNEW it was a scam of some kind.
LOL! Before it became clear that this was a scam, and not just someone having a one-car fire sale, I spoke with a few folks over in Clinton trying to make contact with the seller — nice people, every one of ‘em.
They’re all tainted.
...and that’s how Microsoft develops Windows Updates.
We have a Family Superpower (or maybe it’s a Stupor-power):
We buy really cool cars and get rid of them a decade before the rest of the world decides they’re Classics.
‘57 T-Bird (352cid, black w/white interior, Continental kit)
‘63 Galaxie 500GT Convertible (406cid with Tri-Power)
‘67 Buick Skylark
‘69 Torino GT (351cid w/’shaker’ hood and vinyl top, not the ‘fastback’ body)
It only gets worse the farther back I go, although nobody in the family ever owned a Duesenberg, a Stutz, or a Cord so there’s SOME degree of relief.
