Pen and phone, I’m glad he was a sophisticated enough to use the tools of his day.
So enamored of himself that he had his bust carved into a mountain in Dakota to show the world what a narcissist he was.
At least TR was an American, who loved America. He was also a model of self-invention, having been a sickly child who willed himself to a vigorous adulthood. Lots to like about Teddy - despite the progressivism and monarchial tendencies.
Most Americans, including many Freepers, are brainwashed regarding this fellow. He formed his own Progressive Party for starters. He got the ball rolling on eco-whacko-ism.
He took credit for San Juan Hill after the 10th Cavalry and 24th Inf Reg did all the hard work. Typical dem practice, have Blacks do the hard work, then take all the credit.
I have a feeling RINO’s were alive and well in his era, considering he was a Republican Prez. At least FDR ran under the correct banner.
How does one say that? He was the progressives progressive. If issuing 1200 EOs does not make one think he was doing end-arounds congress, well then, you must think the same of Obama?
Just because he was rugged outdoors man, warrior, cattle rancher, big game hunter and general tough guy, do not let that lead you to the conclusion he was a man who loved America in the way we think that should be expressed.
A progressive is a progressive- that means the US Constitution is not the law of the land as written, but as interpreted/twisted.
Best;
“Lots to like about Teddy”
Yes, he was liked by many. Had he not croaked in office, he likely could have gotten yet another term.
Same for obama, he’s liked by enough to have gotten a second term.
Lotsa women like Hllary, many dems, the illegals. She stands a chance.
Personally, I really do not think likeability should have anything to do with presidential qualifications.
“Had he not croaked in office, he likely could have gotten yet another term.”
He didn’t croak in office.
U.S.S. Plunger, SS-2, March 25, 1905.
Wrong Roosevelt.
This is the one who was shot during a speech - and refused help until he finished the speech.
He was a reaction to the scumbags that ran the country at the time- like Frick and J.P. Morgan!
The comments about Theodore Roosevelt are beyond ignorant, a gross slander and hysterical nonsense.
* TR shared no values of Barack Obama. None.
* TR was, most emphatically, never a Dictator.
* TR was not the first progressive POTUS, as the GOP since Lincoln were progressives; that being the ideology of the party since Fremont in 1856.
* TR was hardly at the root of executive malfeasance.
Teddy Roosevelt’s “History of the United States” in his own words and arranged by Daniel Ruddy w/a Forward from Edmund Morris, capture his sentiments regarding governance. He wrote: “The Republican Party does not belong to the Corporations. Rather it is Lincoln’s Party of plain people, who do not desire injustice to anyone. While I do not say that the people are infallible, I do say that our history shows that the American people are more often sound in their decisions than is the case w/any of the governmental bodies to whom, for their convenience, they have delegated portions of their ultimate power.”
Thank you!
I have often felt alone in blaming Theodore Roosevelt for most of our subsequent woes.
He is, for example, eulogized for his progressive conservation of national lands. What he did abrogated State’s Rights, and paved the way for the Federal Leviathan and its many tentacles, especially the EPA.
Yeah, he was a pioneer: He was the first true RINO.
And a hundred years later, as we schlepp towards “Idiocracy.”
Well, you sure said it better than I did.
I’ve read several biographies of Theodore Roosevelt. To compare him to Obama is ludicrous. Roosevelt was profoundly patriotic. He was American through-and-through. Obama is a traitor.
America prospered and flourished during TR’s presidency. America has been crippled, impoverished and demoralized during Obama’s reign.
