Thanks for the thread-never heard of it, just watched the first two episodes.
Visually, to me, it is like watching Jeff Daniels play George Washington. I can handle that. And he does mannerisms very well.
But I LOVE his verbal imitation of Churchill! Absolutely brilliant!

Interestingly, the great Robert Hardy who plays Churchill in The Wilderness Years appeared in a version of The Gathering Storm from the 70s. Richard Burton played Churchill and Hardy played von Ribbentrop.

This past winter I read Churchill’s six-volume World War 2 history. Incredible man.
