I'm watching the NBC Nightly News, and turned it on today wondering what would they say about Loretta Lynch announcing that the FBI would only release a partial transcript of Omar Mateen's remarks.
The government holding back this information, which the public has a right to know, is a very big story.
The media has also been making dire warnings about Trump "endangering the free press" because he simply kicked out the Democratically-biased Washington Post.
So how did NBC News cover this?
They opened with a report on the Orlando attack, and included some remarks Loretta Lynch made on TV today, but on Mateen's 911 call, they said only that the FBI would release a partial transcript tomorrow. That was it.
Then in their next story, they covered Donald Trump saying that profiling Muslims should be considered, although he hates the thought of doing it. The reporter then said that Hillary Clinton was off the campaign trail, but that she has criticized "Trump's inflammatory remarks towards Muslims."
One has to think that both Democrats and the media want to censor Mateen's comments and not even report on that censorship for political reasons.
Yes, I don’t get all the hand wringing here on FR about press bias.
Does the sun come up in the east?
Yes?
We don’t need a daily thread about it.
I seldom even click on these threads, this time I was looking for a sensible poster, and I found at least one.
One of the reasons I post on FR and still some times mention the press is it gives me an outlet for my frustration.
Of course there is always the chance that some one will be influenced but I get your point.
You either actively oppose these thugs who have supposedly hijacked your religion, or you passively support them. There is no third choice...
OK, getting your frustration out is, in my book a valid reason.
But it would be simpler, and much healthier, to just not watch the scoundrels.
I used to work with a cute, charismatic little girl who came from a good conservative Christian family. I haven’t seen her in 25 years but every now and then I check her facebook page.
A few days ago I was disgusted and a little surprised to see a black ribbon and the words, “stop the hate”. I guess they got to her.

NBC is literally the worst, most dishonest, most partisan network (MSNBC is an NBC offshoot and therefore part of NBC). I hope they go bankrupt over the Olympics fiasco.
I know, but hardly see the difference between it and the other two. They all seem like MSNBC/”Salon TV” to me.
I watch more to see what and how they’re reporting than to be informed of things by them.
I used to watch ABC for the same reasons and was bothered by their bias too.
I don’t expect anything too different in content between the three.
But I switched to NBC from ABC when Brian Williams was anchoring because David Muir and Scott Pelley seemed even worse to me.
ABC’s biases were so predictable I thought I’d listen to NBC’s. Brian Williams was of course openly partisan and ideological. He opined throughout the news. I’m very glad he was unmasked and removed. Lester Holt doesn’t do that in-your-face secular humanism, though he and the reporters engage in the same propaganda.
I haven’t even watched David Muir as anchor, but from seeing him as a reporter, I would imagine that he is helping the network to move away from hard news and into pushing liberal ideologies.
I might start watching CBS News for a change, but Scott Pelley has always seemed to me like he wants to be taken for a “great anchor,” like Walter Cronkite is considered to be.
Good graphics. Thanks for posting.
