The woman "was able to physically remove her son from the mountain lion" and the boy's father called 911 as he drove his son to hospital, the sheriff added.
A hospital spokeswoman said the child sustained injuries to his face, head and neck and was in fair condition. His mother was treated for injuries to her hands and legs and released.

Mamas. Ya gotta love’em! If it’s my baby, it’s me or the mountain lion!!!
Disney might be culpable as they had a prior Gator attack thus putting them on notice of a dangerous condition.

The family will have to get a lawyer from outside Orlando ,, Disney has locked most of them up by using them in various minor capacities at one time or another. They would be smart to sue Disney in whatever locale has the best reputation for such claims ,, one county in Texas comes to mind... Disney has operations in every part of the country so venue shouldn’t be a problem....
I don’t know if I could live with two Aussies who fought. Pepper spray, if I breathed it, would swell up my breathing passages. I hope I am never sprayed.
You are probably correct. An additional ground would be the child’s horrible death. Disney is going to bite the bullet on this one.
My guess is that Disney is just going to write a big fat check as well they should.
In many ways I’m a hard man but I see that little boy and consider his happiness then the terrible death. Tears come to my eyes as I have raised “little one’s.” Many people, all potential jurors, will feel the same way.
Colorado is still very wild. We just had to bears put down in Denver. Where I live I have bears and puddytats. Coyotes are also very common in Colorado. It is all still wild.
Sorry, I didn’t read the story. Still works in the wild and around the house.
We have coyotes in very urban areas of Houston. I saw one myself in a neighborhood about 3 or 4 miles from downtown. There are several bayous that run through Houston and the coyotes live there and then hunt in the surrounding neighborhoods. I had heard they were here but until I saw one myself I wasn’t sure.
Ranchers ran cows and sheep herders their sheep on public lands since the 1800s.
Recently, the animal rights kids from cities have invaded Colorado [ NM, Utah, etc. ] and become the managers of the former Lands of Many Uses. Colorado was recently mostly rural below 2 million people; now over 5 million and exploding. Farm and ranch lands are being destroyed on purpose - creating suburbs full of lefties that think food comes from a box or a can.
One of their many too clever by half - United Nations Agenda 21 - tricks is to ** vacate ** grazing allotments, then creating a wilderness. Sue and settle is another evil game . Note the recent New Mexico wilderness effort that will help drug cartels run illegals from Mexico into NM; intentionally tying the hands of the US border patrol and local law enforcement.
We keep a large pail of water on the kitchen counter. Fights often revolve around food or competition for females. If you hurl a full pail of water into a dogs face, it will usually back off. It’s always worked for me, but there may be dogs that wouldn’t be intimidated.
Or she was kicking it.
I don't want to be spayed either!
No not for me.
She may have kicked the cougar to get her child away.
Then the cougar struck her. They don’t want to say that she kicked the cougar, as the cougar/bambi lovers would want to kill the the mother.
“There have been three fatal mountain lion attacks in Colorado since 1991.”
That have been reported. If you are out by yourself and get killed by a cougar and become a multi course meal for other predators and scavengers, you become a missing person.
Yes, something caused pain exceeding the value of the possible meal.
I posted this happening before on one of George 76’s mountain lion posts.
My wife had as patients a grandmother and grandfather, who had a cabin in a remote area in the Lake Tahoe area.
The woman had seen cougars a couple of times and was concerned and her husband laughed at her.
They went up after a winter to re open their cabin. She was inside cleaning and dusting, while her husband was shopping for groceries. She heard their 110#+ Rottweiler bark, growl and suddenly give out a terrible howl.
She looked out the window to see their dog being dragged away by a big cougar.
When her husband returned with the groceries, he asked where their Rotty was.
She was dressed, packed and ready to return home, she told her husband their Rotty was probably part of the food chain beginning with a big cougar.
Then, she told her husband it was past time to leave, “If you don’t, I’m leaving you with the cougars.”
He saw the blood trail and crushed weeds where Rotty had been dragged. He got his stuff back in their SUV, and they left and sold the place.
Their grandkids had played where Rotty met his end.
True << That have been reported. If you are out by yourself and get killed by a cougar and become a multi course meal for other predators and scavengers, you become a missing person.>>
They recently found a lower leg and foot inside a boot; everything else was gone / eaten at the Eldora Ski Resort in Boulder county.
The DNA did not match any reported / recent missing persons. Those missing persons are also still missing.
Yikes.
