Given the rumors that are flying around about 'changing the rules' at the GOP convention so as to prevent Donald Trump from being the Republican nominee, I think some thought should be given to the potential collateral damage to the Republican Party's efforts in November.
First, I'll state the obvious - if Trump is denied his position on the ballot in 2016, I simply will not vote for president - and I suspect that holds for many, probably a majority of Trump supporters.
So Romney, Ryan, or whoever replaces him will simply have to find another pool of millions of voters to push them over the top, and I'll give them a hit - IT DOESN'T EXIST. The only pool of voters they'll find is the 10,000 or so GOP insiders that can't stand Trump crashing their little conclave. The millions of us that took the time and made the effort to go out and vote, we'll simply will NOT VOTE for this new candidate.
Now I assume the above is already obvious to the GOP Leaders, so it's time to add a bit more to the mix. Do not, for a minute, think that us Trump voters have some great love for the GOP. WE DO NOT. We've been asking for a candidate to secure our borders (and that includes terrorist immigration) for over a decade, and all we get are Open Borders types and back-room scheming to try to get Amnesty through - the same Amnesty that is even opposed by a (albeit slim) majority of Democrats. The only people 'extreme' on this issue are the ones (in both parties) that will not let go of this push.
So here's what happens if we do not see Trump on the ticket - you Republican SENATORS, CONGRESSMEN, and CANDIDATES are going down with him. We will not vote for a party that denies its own voters their choice of a candidate...THAT SIMPLE.
So you guys, if you want, can continue your scheming to try to figure out a way to keep Trump off the November ballot - but if you do, be prepared to LOSE YOUR SEATS too, and watch the GOP end up with as much power nationally as it now has in California...a fate deserving of them if they try this stunt.
And you cannot say you weren't warned, for this is YOUR WARNING.
Trump is going to be the nominee.
Problem is, while there are plenty of people who feel the way you (and I) do there are a lot of people who will pull the GOP level rather than let Hillary be elected. Some of these jerks will retain their seats, unfortunately but Hillary will be elected.
“The problem is that the establishment would gladly give the WH to Clinton. “
Not the OFFICEHOLDERS - the GOPe yes, but not the officeholders.
See my Post 20.
This talk about dumping Trump is just the MSM trying to make an issue about GOP ‘division’.
Trump is going to be the nominee.
It’s not just the MSM. Ryan is giving interviews nearly daily to frag Trump.
THEY DON’T CARE.
Hillary’s on the same team.
I’ve emailed my representatives - either Trump gets the nomination and *you* support him or...
I’ll still vote for Dave Brat because he has stayed true to his word.
I’ll vote against every other Republican on my ballot in every election for every office thereafter until there are no more Republicans.
Look at recent history, The Republicans in Congress will bow and vote for whoever the Democrats put up for the USSC. They will not on principle or practicality, just roll over because the MSM will be mean to them. They grovel at every turn and give up without any fight.
Nothing is going to happen.
The real problem is that they arent supporting him with their words and deeds.
Theyve got this Ryan separation scheme to help the RINOs. it doesnt, wont, and cant work. Its divisive and a sure failure.
Exactly. THe GOP won’t fight. Ever. Unless it’s for their Obamacare exemption. Then it gets done ASAP.
Many of them should have been dumped anyway in 2012 and 2014 ... so yes, dump them. It’s not a great loss to lose Republicrats
I saw a good sign for things to come the other day. North Dakota had their primary for governor. It is without a doubt that a Republican will win, they always do. So in the primary you had the party picked favorite, a long time Republican politician. Done deal.
Not so fast. Along comes Doug Burgum, a self made zillionaire who has never held office anywhere. He stomped his opponent.
The general tone was that people are tired of being force fed lifelong politicians and want some fresh, uncompromised blood. Good news for Trump.
Trump is not the conservative in the Reagan mode but this man fights and is taking it to the Democrats in a way we haven’t seen since Reagan. He won the nomination fair and square, but if the RINOS, the butthurt Cruzer wing and anyone else takes the nomination from Trump you can count on the GOP going down in an Armageddon style defeat. Count on it!
THEY DONT CARE.
Hillarys on the same team.
And so are the GOP big donors who stuff their pockets. That’s why they don’t give a flip about Main Street.
Yes, FOR SURE...you made that comment last time I posted this...Brat is a RARE BREED!
“Well, the MSM is the one pumping these guys up...Nothing is going to happen.”
...and that is my purpose in posting this.
Write him in though it seems Priebus sees the writing on the wall and is on board.
If the rest of the GOP districts that are represented by multi-national weasels like Eric Cantor had followed our lead and dumped them in a primary, we would not be in the position we are.
Ryan really needs to be Cantorized.
Every GOP in office deserves to be in prison.
Issa. Gowdy. McCain. Boehner. Ryan.
CRIMINALS ALL.
TRAITORS ALL.
PROTECTORS OF TREASON. ALL.
Precisely
Time for the petulant children to put on their big boy pants and start pulling on our end of the rope
