The braggart with the ducktail who would be president
Chicago Trib ^ | June 15, 2016 | Garrison Keillor

Posted on 06/16/2016 4:52:22 AM PDT by upchuck

It is the most famous ducktail in America today, the hairdo of wayward youth of a bygone era, and it's astonishing to imagine it under the spotlight in Cleveland, being cheered by Republican dignitaries. The class hood, the bully and braggart, the guy revving his pink Chevy to make the pipes rumble, presiding over the student council. This is the C-minus guy who sat behind you in history and poked you with his pencil and smirked when you asked him to stop. That smirk is now on every front page in America. It is not what anybody — left, right or center — looks for in a president. There's no philosophy here, just an attitude.

He is a little old for a ducktail. By the age of 70, most ducks have moved on, but not Donald Trump. He is apparently still fond of the sidewalls and the duck's ass in back and he is proud as can be of his great feat, the first punk candidate to get this close to the White House. He says the country is run by a bunch of clowns and that he is going to make things great again and beat up on the outsiders who are coming into our neighborhood. His followers don't necessarily believe that — what they love about him is what kids loved about Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious, the fact that he horrifies the powers that be and when you are pro-duck you are giving the finger to Congress, the press, clergy, lawyers, teachers, cake-eaters, big muckety-mucks, VIPs, all those people who think they're better than you — you have the power to scare the pants off them, and that's what this candidate does better than anybody else.

Yes! This is an ENDORSEMENT of TRUMP as far as I’m concerned.

Perhaps you missed the last paragraph of the article:

Garrison Keillor delivered a sick-making eulogy of Harry Blackmun on A Prairie Home Companion. Keillor is scum.

The writer is a guy who loves the status quo. Unfortunately the status quo is sinking our country. Playing by the rules only works until the bureaucracy gets entrenched, self serving and drunk with power, which is exactly where we are now.

The author is missing critical facilities. The picture he paints of Trump illuminates more about the author than about Trump. Keillor resented the brighter, edgier, more self assured kids and wasn’t able to compete with them. The scars are still visible and the resentment remains. He is also pushing a fantasy. Trump was excelling in military school not lounging around attacking authority figures.

I used to take a look at the regular column he wrote for one of the Chicago daily papers.

He is a vicious lying hater of the first rank.

He is an artist of the sort of Leni Riefenstahl only Keillor would be glad to work ann occasional shift at the ovens as well.

...

They used to call it a DA. What does DA stand for? Don’t ask.

I remember ducktail hair styles on the boys in the 50’s but that is not exactly how they looked. Donald's hair in back looks like a real ducks tail and he would look better if he got a normal haircut.

He must go through a can of hair spray a week to keep it looking like that.

After reading that line the entire article was known to be untrue. EVERYONE knows the pResident in our WH now would be the first of that type. Mr. Trump would only come in second, at best.

"...This is the C-minus guy ..."

Liberal Projection.

People can say a lot of negative things about Trump, but they can't say he's not good at what he does, and has been for years and years.

He’s from Minnesota which is about as flyover country as you can get. He strikes me more as a liberal Lutheran type except more smug.He tries to be folksy but there is an underlying nastiness towards those he disagrees with I think.

His self-loathing in Lake Wobegon is almost palpable.
Read the story of the young artiste registering for college—and it’s a big thing for them, he’s the first one in his family to attend—so they go along and he doesn’t want to be seen with them.
He has fantasies of belonging to another family. He’s ashamed of his family, of his friends at home, his neighbors and town. Keillor is an archetypical sneering lefty.
Liberalism is a mental disease.

LOL! Pretty pathetic that they have to attack his hair because they have zero rational data to work with.

This article was written by the kid that was first into homeroom with the polished apple for the teacher. Sporting polished loafers with tin foil wrapped pennies, he loved adjusting the collar on his madras shit.

Recess dodge ball was not his thing (thought everybody was aiming at him) and preferred waiting outside the teachers’ lounge to run some errands. Took fifth period typing class because the teacher liked to give young boys good grades.

Then in his last class, he would sing louder than anyone else.
