Consider this before you buy a new car or truck...
Posted on 06/14/2016 3:32:08 PM PDT by Tazzo
Buying a car or truck built in the USA, by members of the UAW, is a financial contribution to Clinton and other democrat candidates.
The United Auto Workers (UAW) financially support ONLY democrat candidates.
Do you want YOUR money supporting democrats?

Agreed. My last one finally died around 650K miles. Latest purchase was another Toyota. Hope it lasts to 650K miles or more.

Unfortunately I have not found a 3/4 ton Service Truck yet, made by anybody that performs as well as or lasts as long as the Chevy 2500HD Service Truck. I buy a New one every 4-5 years and put 250k without a Single Repair EVER on any of them.

I have a Willys jeep that starts at the touch of the switch.
I’ve been having grief from the new radiator that leaked after a month. The new one is here under warranty and maybe that will be the end of the cooling game.

My dad has a 99 Dodge diesel longbed he pulls construction equipment and such with.
He won’t sell it. One guy has offered him essentially a blank check for it a couple of times. He won’t sell. I wouldn’t either.

No long after I bought my 1990 Oldsmobile I came to realize that the UAW leadership is my enemy. That Olds was the last car built with UAW/CAW labor that I've bought,

Buy a Toyota, built in the USA by non-union workers.

We bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee last year: Biggest piece of crap ever, and they might get recalled or owners told not to drive them. Traded it in on another BMW. BMW doesn’t cost more but the engineering and quality dwarfs ALL “domestic” made cars.

Proof that GM is crap All you have to do is be a car renter. I don't get many American car company cars much anymore because I always request foreign. But I'd say over the last two decades, 50% of the American company cars I've gotten from rental companies has had one problem or another. These are always low mileage cars, and they are the real test drives. But I never have a problem with foreign car company cars.

Years ago, when US automakers successfully lobbied Congress to set limits on imported cars... That came back to bite them in the rear when those foreign/imported makes decided to establish manufacturing and assembly in the US. Since that time, those facilities have multiplied and US makers' only answer was to move to Mexico.

They are full of dealer only parts.
Like the fan switch on my 07 Cobalt. It crapped out on me, just as it's starting to get hot as heck here in FL, naturally, and it's a dealer only part costing almost $300 because the console with the temp control and AC switch needs to replaced, pr so THEY say. I found out that the switch itself can be removed, it's held by 2 clutch head screws. Go to any Advance, NAPA, etc and ask for a blower motor switch for a 1997-1999 Corvette, it's the same exact part costing less than $30. But this is OUR secret nobody heard this from me ;)
