The Take This Job and Shove It singer has been ordered to pay the IRS more than $980,000 after pleading guilty to tax evasion and failing to pay $466,000 in back taxes, interest and penalties, prosecutors said.
Coe, 76, was also sentenced Monday in Cincinnati federal court to three years probation.
Federal prosecutors said the singer played more than 100 concerts a year between 2008 and 2013, but asked to be paid in cash to avoid paying Uncle Sam.

If you’re gonna stiff Uncle Sam, go big!
Yet AL RASIST not too Sharpton walks a free man. IT’S BECAUSE THIS MAN IS WHITE. THERE IS A WAR ON WHITE MEN AND WOMEN!
over 9 million views!
‘If that ain’t country’ One of my favorite DAC songs
Meanwhile Al Sharption.......?
Jerry Jeff mostly just sang in that great voice
Redneck Mother was written by Ray Wylie Hubbard who frankly as far as Texas music goes is one of the few who in my mind deserves the appellation “Great”
he’ll probably hear the three greatest lies, personally.
hope not
In the concert promotion business which I have some experience in with Lynyrd Skynyrd it’s not unusual for the split once the promoters agreed upon nut is covered to be paid in cash
That’s why you scurry while the show is underway to monitor and get a good gate reciepts accounting
I was with the talent booker and would have the promoters rep and the band manager hanging over my shoulders as we counted to make sure
Lol...they trusted me but not each other
Skynyrd had this Jewish Hippie Kali guy who to his credit was Peter Grant ferocious on behalf of his band and he liked me but I saw him chew
We’re talking 175-300,000 in reciepts and concessions divvy so its real money at stake
And some bands require all cash if they don’t know the promoter
Now municipal or corporate soft ticket deals are whole nother more relaxed gig
It’s a fun biz but I would not do it without a sponsor like Budweiser or Coke or Harley Davidson
Coe could easily skim but sounds like he got careless
Getting cash is fine but you still have to declare it. You can’t trust the venue to not expense some costs(like paying the band) and label you as the recipient. Then that pesky 1099 shows up.
Also, you better pay your accountant well because he has the goods on you.
OMG... I just checked out some of his other songs. Potty mouth, big time.
very much so
Justice for Sharpton.
+1 on that Ray Wylie Hubbard.
“Take these taxes and shove them” doesn’t work quite as well!
No, but “take your tax and shove it,” does.
Would you lay with me in a field of stone?
I stand corrected !!
Dimebag had one too
Aaah thanks
