Thanks for your informative response. I need to learn the virtual machine technique since there are a few pgms I need to run that will not run under Linux, e.g Sibelius 6.
There are a bunch of videos on u-toob that chronicle the setup and maintenance of virtual desktops. There are several “flavors” including Microsoft’s Virtual Desktop, VMware, and Oracle’s Virtualbox (to name a few).
I run VMware at work and Virtualbox on my laptop.
Oh, and there are several FReepers who appear to work with VM’s as a part of their jobs so there’s always a wealth of free advice!
