I have a weakness for kittens, I really do.

When I win the lottery, I am going full on crazy cat lady, immediately.

Excellent.

It’s an adorable kitten and good that they adopted it.

The cat is a con artist. All of my cats sharpen their claws on my tires. (It does not hurt the tires.)

What a precious little kitten, so glad it had a happy outcome for it.

Poor animals suffer so but I have adored kittens since I was a little girl. I finally had to start spaying and neutering because it was too hard to find good homes for them where you didn't feel confident they wouldn't be abused.

One year I had 17, a mama and babies got drywalled in while I was off helping with my aunt. Luckily one of my kids or the workman heard them and let them out.

Then I realized what I was turning into, those ladies you read about on the news. So I got down it down to two. Then one, and a stray came along, I adopted him. He's all I have inside now but for years the neighbor's cat prefers to eat on my porch.

It's a very strange and pretty black male cat, quite old now. He will wait until I bring the food out. I worry about him in winter but he has good susrival skills and I think they let him in.

I don't know why he likes it better on my porch. I do buy good quality dry food. What the cat doesn't eat, I saw a young coon finishing it off the other night. It scurried away when I got out of the car and headed for the porch. I had the light on and everything. The night before was a new cat from somewhere.

But I miss my years of so many adorable kittens.

Reminds me of what happened a few decades ago. After work downtown, I drove my car to pick up my wife at her job, then we drove home some 15 miles away. As we got out of the car, she says she hears mewing sounds from the engine. I lifted the hood, and saw a kitten nestled in the engine bay inches from the radiator fan blades. Yikes! Lucky kitten. We fed it and cared for it overnight. Next day, I drove to the parking lot and released it. The kitten kept coming back and jumping into the engine bay. I finally dropped it out the door and quickly drove away, as it chased after my car. And I stopped parking at that particular lot! We had a dog at the time and couldn’t take in the kitten. Years later, we now have a cat and appreciate having it be our friend.

This is a common tactic of stray kitties. I found my sweet Emily this way as she darted under our car as we were driving into the apartment. We quickly stopped and jumped out afraid she had been hit. She came peeking out from behind a tire and came right to me as if to say, “I’m yours!”. She was almost 12 weeks old, full of fleas, ear mite and worms. I took her to the vets the next day and got them all taken care of and she was with me for fifteen years. I loved her so much and she brought so much joy and love into my life.
