As Opii go, it was good.

As a piece of rational thought, it was severely lacking. You and a significant number of Sore Cruzers fail to understand that this is an existential situation. Issue 1 is immigration. Trump is best on that, bar none. Cruz was not trustworthy on it, what with his ties to the GOPe and the free labor express, and he was the second best of the bunch. Doing what the American people want on that issue will preserve the country and perhaps allow conservatives to do all those things their purity requires in the future.

The other important issues are all Trump winners. Muslims, trade, taxes, Obamacare. He's got 'em all covered.

I can see preferring Cruz at the start of the whole thing. I did. But after Cruz lost (and it was all over after Florida on March 15), refusing to support Trump is simply and objectively support for Hillary as President.

If you can't think better than that, you will not be missed here.

Interesting read. It looks like you put your heart and soul into it, but I disagree on your Premise.

If Cruz had caught fire, won numerous Primaries and amassed the required Delegates like Trump did, Jim would have supported him over Trump and told the embattled Trumpsters to give it up and support the Nominee.

The thing is, FReepers had nothing to do with Trump winning and Cruz losing. Trump played the game better than Cruz and it was obvious to me as a former Cruzer that the Die was Cast after Iowa became a footnote if not a blip in the doomed Cruz Campaign.

Cruz proved himself to be a Regional Candidate and the last two Months of his Campaign were painful for me to observe.

Now that the Presumptive Nominee is Trump, we either fight the War with the Army we have or we just give up and wait for Hillary's Coronation. Looks like you choose the latter.

No Candidate is perfect. The Bush's (41 and 43) were RINO’s and to be perfectly honest, if not for Trump you would be blaming your fellow FReepers because Jeb! would be the presumptive Nominee at this moment in time.

Cruz's downfall was his fault alone, not the fault of the FR Trump contingent most of whom were Cruz Supporters long before they became Trump supporters. I stuck with Cruz as long as it made sense to do so, but I knew when it was time to get on the Trump Lifeboat as I watched the S.S. Cruztanic glide under the waves.
