'Accidents happen'? How many millions of people have brought children to zoos through the decades without having one climb into an animal enclosure? The killing of the gorilla was necessary, but it was also a thing that could have been prevented by this woman keeping an eye on her child.

Anyone who ever had a four old has lost track of their child at least once at the mall, open air event, parties, church etc...

Turn your head for a second and boom "where did they go"...

1 in 1,000,000 times it's amounts to more than nothing..

It's hard to blame her...

It happens every day...

In a potentially dangerous place with a kid that made it clear he wouldn’t listen to her - she should’ve paid more attention. This was a different situation than the benign ones you compare into.

There are more bad parents out there these days. Goes hand in hand with entitlements and the dumbing down of society.

My first daughter was like that. We took care of it very soon. Back then they had what was called a child's leash. It was great. Now you would more than likely be accused of child abuse if you used one.
