I think the insurance industry is going to eventually shut down business models like Uber and Airbnb -- simply by holding their policy holders to the same standards that they would apply to a commercial limousine service or hotel.

I'm all for limited regulations, but I also don't see how a business model that is built on operating in gray areas around the margins of the law can last very long.

I was referring to burial by an avalanche of regulations.
You are right about the insurance companies. They require notification of business use of vehicles. Taxis are a whole different class. Very high rates.
