Here we go again: Fawning about Uber et al.

Absent the spin, Uber drivers are treated like crap, work longer hours and make less $$.

Yeah, that’ll drive ‘em to the right. Sure. /s

If the fact that they need Uber because they don’t have a job and can’t afford a car of their own like every other generation for the past 60 years doesn’t drive them to pro-capitalist politics, then it is unlikely that this will.

AirBNB is awesome. We’re traveling in Japan this summer for a month and literally spent $1,250 for one month of prime staying places - we’re talking 2 homes with 2-3 bedrooms and a full kitchen and bathrooms. It’s really a great alternative to hotels.

As soon as a private Uber driver refuses to drive for a gay “wedding”’or for a profiled Mohammedan terror suspect, millenials will again favor all regulations on “web-based” contracting companies.

The problem is, young people have no problem being absolute hypocrites. They want less regulation when it benefits them, but they also want more regulation, taxes, socialism, when they think that will benefit them. Plus, no matter what they think about that stuff, it’s not going to affect their views on moral issues.

At best the libertarians might capitalize on this phenomenon, if they weren’t seen as a joke party, but they are, so I doubt that will happen.
