At about 9 a.m. on Sunday, CHP officers were tasked with an unusual call: A flock of baby geese had wandered onto westbound Interstate 80 near the Ashby Avenue exit. In a Facebook post on the incident, CHP showed endearing footage of officers escorting the geese via vehicle along the freeway.
When officers arrived on scene to find the geese, the animals were found in the left lanes of the freeway, said Officer Sean Wilkenfeld with CHP Oakland.
"We ran a traffic break and we stopped the freeway so we can get them corralled to the right hand shoulder and that's where the world's slowest pursuit took place," Wilkenfeld said.
At least three CHP vehicles were used to corral the "felonious fowl," and Wilkenfeld said that the officers then escorted the flock to the Powell Street exit to get the geese to the water.

I love it.
Way to go, CHP!!!!!!!
Make Way for Goslings?
uh Canada Geese and goslings...illegal immigrants
“Felonious fowl.” Love it.
We have several ponds in and around our subdivision...We have geese and right now plenty of little ones all over the place...I like ‘em....
Good for them.
Our house is on a small lake. We have the geese year round. We had Mom and Dad and two half grown goslings working their way through the backyard this afternoon and ogling the chicken feeder on the way past. :-)
No way the “little guys” were born in the USA. They are legal and the parents have anchor baby status.
What a country!
I’m in North Carolina and ours aren’t quite half grown yet...About 3-4 weeks, I think....
Well ours are pretty big but now that you mention it they don’t have their feathers yet so maybe four to five weeks.
Thaks...I’ll have to get that for my grandson...:o))
I’m jealous of your pond!!!!! I love to play with the bream with my flyrod and popping bugs....:o)
Same up here in MN. And out in CA too. They're takin' over! :)
I like the geese more than the a-holes that just run them over while the geese and ducks are just trying to cross a side-street, not on a highway.
"We've got to save them. Let me go!!!"
I know what you mean...Thankfully, around here almost everyone watches out for them....
Someone needs to Google the word gaggle
Great that they saved the geese from being run over by car, as well as saved people who may have gotten into bad accidents because of the geese.
Good job, CHP. Sometimes doing the unconventional is the right thing to do.
