Five Amish teens face alcohol-related charges after their 2001 Dodge Caravan was clocked at 110 miles per hour.
The teens were spotted Friday night while driving southbound on US 31 in Fulton County.
As the Indiana State Police troopers caught up with the van, the teens allegedly started throwing alcohol containers out of the vehicle.
An investigation found that the 17-year-old male driver was operating the vehicle on a learner's permit and had consumed alcohol.
Inside the vehicle, troopers spotted numerous alcohol containers, multiple cases of beer, and a jug of whiskey.
There were two female passengers, ages 16 and 17, in the van. There were also two 16 year-old boys in the van. Police believe all of the teens had consumed alcohol.

Yeah, but it's pulled by a horse.
And it's still painted black.
You're welcome. :)
Well, for one thing, they probably did it on the sly.
For another, many Amish have a thing about wired items. Many sects don’t like wires, but allow cellular phones. Many allow wired technology, but only for the community - such as a community phone. But no person or family is allowed their own phone.
I think most do not allow cars at all. Allowed to ride in them, not drive/own. Mennonites drive, Amish ride.
Everything they do/allow is decided by local council, who consider what ramifications such technology might have.
Not all are black.
Sects are different. Some have white, others have yellow. I’m sure also gray and other colors.

They were probably lucky to get caught. An old van like that probably has a soft suspension and they could have lost control easily at that speed.

Horse???
Aren’t the Amish lenient to teen shenanigans during rumspringa? I wonder what they will do with this crew?
Just kidding. I have no idea where/when/how they got the alcohol. BUT then again, the Amish aren’t supposed to do what a lot if their teens do at rumspringa.
Five people in a 2001 Dodge Caravan at 110 mph. That’s pretty impressive. Yes - glad they got pulled over before they killed themselves or others.
Teenage right of passage. The trooper may have saved their lives.
I’m surprised that horse could pull that minivan at that speed.
In case you've ever wondered what an Amish pulling horse looks like next to a regular sized minivan.

How’d they get a 16 year old minivan up to 110? Downhill?
Amish.
At that age they are doing their (they have a name for it but I don’t remember it) time in the outside world before they join the church and community forwver
That’s the word I was looking for
