This to me, is a total disgrace to America and our Veterans that served during Viet Nam.
We have a wall with names of fallen Veterans that served this Country for it's freedoms and making it safe, and this President goes there and offers them weapons and other things...
Maybe I am upset because a lot of people I knew served there, people I grew up with, boys that I dated, men that I rode with, that never came back home...
I was privledged to see the "Viet Nam Wall" when I went with the Rolling Thunder out of PA. This was very hard for me as I found the names of my friends and have them today...
This worthless POS does not respect America nor does he respect our Military or our Veterans...
> Am I the only one upset by this...
As a veteran who served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971. Yup, you’re the only one.
We should have normalized relations with Vietnam 30 years ago, so that we could trade with them and build factories there.
In all honesty, the Ivy Leagues, Washington DC, and California are -far- more communist than today’s Vietnam. It’s not even close.
Because the MSM, talking heads are all a glitter with this POS and his tour...
How many millions of people are there out in Our Country that do not know what we know on here? A lot...
And yes, there is an ARMY of Thousands behind President Trump and there always will be!!!
AMERICA GREAT, again is all WTP ask, demand, and expect. This and only this will suffice. Something to bequeath to future generations.
I’m with you both and anyone else that’s disgusted by ongoing betrayal of our veteran’s sacrifice.
The optics of a US President posing in front of an enemy communist leader is disgraceful!
Obola should have skipped his apeasement tour stop, and made it clear that any weapons the USA provides to Vietnam are strictly intended to protect the international waters free passage, and protect countries from mounting Chinese aggression.
Bear in mind, Zero does this just to piss off people just like you...
Don’t give the satisfaction...
Ugh
At least he isn’t directly in front of it. And he did manage to make the other guy look wimpy. (Not to mention abhorrently tailored)
I agree. The Obama administration seems to think that humiliation is the order of the day. Instead of working from a position of strength, he’d rather work from a grovel. Never saw that one in the books on diplomacy.
I wholeheartedly agree with you. But, where in Vietnam won’t you find a grinning bust or picture of Ho. However, Obama’s grasp on diplomacy is even less than his understanding of the Constitution.
So what? I forgot to include the BBC on my list.
The hard cold fact is that Vietnam is closer to unrestricted capitalism than any of he places I listed.
Try to open a business, any business, in DC, California, on any Ivy University campus, or in the BBC building. Do the same in Vietnam.
Then get back to me.
Well, we’re friendly enough with Japan now.
And Germany.
We are friends and allies with Germany and Japan. Times change and people change. While Vietnam is fresher in our memories, normalization is best for everyone.
This does not in any way diminish the honorable service of our heroes, living or dead.
Thank you vets, for your service.
However...
The short version of my thoughts is...1) we made peace with Germany and Japan...2) China, today, represents a danger to the world that dwarfs anything they were in the 60's and anything Vietnam was in the 60's.Given that undeniable fact it could,IMO,be vigorously argued that we mast strengthen any ties we might have with countries like the Philipines,Thailand,Taiwan,Vietnam,Singapore and Australia...among others.
Just sayin'....
After the fall of Vicksburg, the citizens there didn’t celebrate the 4th of July for 75 years. That’s how long the US should have waited before going back to Vietnam.
Right or Jane.
I don’t know how many on this board are old enough to know about Vietnam, and the whys and wherefores but they should research and find out how hard it was...
I remember they didn’t get a parade, and when they were coming home, people would throw s itty baby diapers at them, they were finally told not to wear their uniforms just plain street clothes...years later, they finally got a thank you...
And this POS disrespects America 24/7 and no body says a word about it...
I can’t wait for President Trump to Make America Great Again!!!
