Sad,for sure....but it now won't be long before PETA demands the immediate outlawing of all forms of equestrian sports nationwide.

Made the mistake of checking out the comments at the link. All the “stop the barbaric races and mistreatment of horses” huggers are all out in full force. People who don’t like horse racing should watch something/anything else and leave those of us who do alone.

Boy, that sucks. Buying an animal for that kind of money and having it drop dead on you...that is not a good day at the track.

Years ago we had to put down a high dollar race horse because of a destroyed knee. The vet used a syringe of Nicotine Sulfide and death was within six seconds.

One of the men with us asked why they just did not shoot the horse. The Vet’s reply was “It looks nicer”.

A cause of death for Homeboykris has not been determined.

At 9 years old and a lifetime of racing, my guess is a heart attack..........So sad.

I used to love going to the dog track and betting on the greyhounds. That was taken from me and any other fans, groomers, trainers and breeders. With that said, I don’t think horses should be subjected to horse racing either. The dogs were banned, the horses should be banned. It is simply a matter of fairness, and of course the cruelty of strapping leather on a beautiful creature, and forcing to carry a human. Imagine, having your slave master literally riding astride you to make filthy Lucre.....a mild sarcasm alert.... It will never happen, the wealthy love the ponies. Dogs, it is cruelty to teach them to love to run.

First the voice of Mr. Ed dies... no two horses at the Preakness bite the dust.

Death really DOES come in threes!!

I just turned on to NBC and the Preakness just started. They didn’t mention anything in the opening about those 2 poor horses......they might have by now......I can’t watch it this time. The track is muddy and I certainly can’t handle seeing another possible tragedy. I pray to God it doesn’t happen........;(

Was Bill or Hill in attendance at the track during that time? What about BO’B. Time to round up the usual suspects. Sounds like someone has been watching too many Godfather movies. Autopsy would prove interesting indeed. Two dead horses in one day sounds implausible.
