Roogned Odor (Pronounced O'Door) nearly knocks Jose Bsutista out after Bautista ries to give Odor a career ending knee injury
Everyone involved needs to be suspended for a while — and fined heavily.
We saw Odor’s uncle Rouglas in the minors. I always used to say, “I can smell him all the way up here!”
He took the punch well actually. Impressive. He was still ready to go.
It looked like his glasses absorbed most of the punch.
Baseh ball been berry berry good to me.
That was quite a punch. He could teach hockey players a thing or two.
It is not "whiteness" we seek, but rather civilized, western civilization-centric behavior and values.
You know, all that stuff that was the norm 40 years ago and is now a foreign concept.
And when it comes to professional sports, I think you find it in baseball more than anywhere else.
At one time it might have been found at the Olympics, but that hasn't been the case since at least 1936, long before any of us were walking this earth.
If there were such a thing, I would suggest both teams being given a loss for the game in addition, but that is not possible, so I can live with both teams being decimated for a while--and I would say that if my team (Rays) happened to be one of them.
After the play, who got in whose face first? I haven’t seen what exactly happened at 2nd after the slide.

Replays show after the slide which Odor avoided deftly Odor took great offence and this may go back to the bat flip from last years playoffs. Odor then went after Bautista shoving him with both arms. Bautista then put his arm up in what looks like a defensive posture but to no avail as Odor punches Bautista in the face and the two team benches cleared. Not sure if Bautista said something or not but in terms of visuals it looks like Odor started the physical confrontation.
It certainly was harder than the “knockout” punch Ali gave to Sonny Liston.
Upon further review it looks like words are being exchanged and Bautista initially is approaching Odor when the initial shoving takes place. Here is the youtube link.

Yeah, if that’s true, then that would seem to lay at Odor’s feet. Like you said we don’t know if Bautista said something, but in any case he was the one that was stuck. And yes, this all absolutely about the bat flip.
This could be a trend with the MLB warning system. Last game of the season against the Jays, last Bautista at bat, stick him. We’ll see.

That’s the good thing about fighting in hockey, you have your fight, and then it’s over and both parties move on.
Other sports, these things tend to linger over a long period of time.
I guess I would want to see the whole thing, Bautista getting up and so on. I think maybe Beltré really did everyone a favor there.
Like I said, the warning system pressures a team to strike first and do it at a point in the season where there is little room for future retaliation.

It's headlines like this one that make me wonder if I'm developing Alzheimer's and becoming incapable of understanding perfectly ordinary events.
This view is from a 3rd base camera angle. Might show a bit more than some. I know up here in Toronto they seem to be showing an outfield camera view a lot.

Well, the only reason we don’t have guys moonwalking down to first after drawing a walk or breaking out the fruity victory dances for catching a routine pop-up is because of players self policing themselves, which has a much different dynamic in baseball. Hockey comes closest, but it probably has the best character guys too, I would say. But there still isn’t the equivalent helplessness of a batter being stuck with 98mph. 162 games makes it different too.

From that it looks like it’s on Odor, to me.

Texas announcer: “Odor is now 2 for 5 today.” Ha!!
