Did some quick research. A child doesn't have any concept of gender identity until age 2 or 3. That's when they start developing gender roles, and it's a learning process, from their environment and from physical development. Add to that a child doesn't have a full ability to distinguish fantasy from reality until age 8 or 9. This is in a society that is labeling children for learning disabilities and psychological problems before they can even tie their shoes. Then there's our culture (and this has been true since the 1960s): children are placed in situations that assume an interest in sexuality before it develops naturally. Mix it altogether, and almost every child is going to have challenges to developing their identity in an honest way.
So what's the answer? Add to the mix having to give up that last vestige of privacy and let folks pee where ever they want.
Some "civilizations" deserve to die.
You have some good points there.
For these reasons and more, I’m glad I am not growing up today, not coming of age in today’s world.
