The world's biggest-ever cruise ship, the 227,000-tonne Harmony of the Seas, a luxury home on the waves for 8,500 passengers and crew, was handed over by a French shipyard on Thursday after a 40-month engineering feat. At 218ft, it is the widest cruise ship ever built, while its 1,187ft length makes it 164ft longer than the height of the Eiffel Tower. The immense floating town, which cost close to one billion euros (£800 million), has 18 decks and will be able to carry 6,360 passengers and 2,100 crew members.

I hear that it was built pre-infected with norovirus. ;-)
Your post is just silly
Wonder what became of that project?
The Australian businessman who was funding the project has had some financial difficulties. The boat was slated to launch this year, but that's been pushed back till 2018. Construction hasn't begun yet.
In April of this year, Australia's Fairfax media was unable to determine the status of the project was.
Also, it would take several thousands of these in the water at the same time to even begin to have an affect on water levels of the oceans, and then it would still be minor. The size of even this ship is but a speck in the waters. Much like icebergs, which also have very modest affects on ocean levels, their buoyancy is what negates much of their affect. They merely displace an amount of water in correlation to their size, which is all but negligible. Only land based ice melts can contribute to rises in sea levels. Icebergs in the water that melt create no additional rise to the sea level.
If Jack Jones ain’t there to serenade me, I ain’t going.
You don’t need to be allowed, you could tell me quietly...
“Impressive, but no thanks. “

Ditto !

The “Titanic II” project has been off and on for years now. From what I gather, it’s off again or at the very least, construction has yet to begin. It’s an interesting idea, and to be honest, I’d take a trip (I’m not superstitious or anything so no worries there) just to say I’ve done it. I’ve been on two cruises, and both of them turned out just fine and I had a good time.
Here’s a link to some info about the project: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanic_II
A muzzie terrorist’s wet dream
I want to do the same thing. I hope to get a chance before Europe is completely colonized.
I would love to do a Danube cruise, I got a taste when we went to Budapest, but I’d love to do one that goes from Amsterdam to the Black Sea.
I’d also love to do the Moscow to St. Petersburg river cruise as well.
More importantly, in reverse.
Almost big enough to hold a Trump rally!
No thanks.
Give me a cabin in the Rockies and a cooler full of food.
Bet you can get a whole lot of refugees on that boat...
Gross tonnage is 100 cubic feet/ton. There are five or six kinds of tonnage and the word dates back to Northern Europe usage of tun which were big barrels I think.
I should think that a nuke carrier likely weighs somewhat more since it will be all steel with many more compartments, flight deck and some armor.
These apartment blocks on hulls like the one pictured would have an aluminum superstructure probably.
The Youth Zone is next to the high dollar private suites.
Must be the quiet part of the ship.
