Radio host Rush Limbaugh used Wednesdays show to do an experiment on Donald Trumps supporters.
I found a YouTube last night, and Im gonna play this for you, and Im curious to know how Trump supporters react to this, Mr. Limbaugh told his audience before playing a 2012 clip from Fox News On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.
Mr. Trump said at the time that he thought Hillary Clinton was a terrific person. He also called former President Bill Clinton a really good guy.
Mr. Limbaugh then used his email account to gauge reactions to the broadcast by the billionaires supporters. He also asked listeners to weigh in on the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.
This is exactly what I was expecting, the host said after a commercial break. One reaction is, You know, this would make a great ad debunking how Trump is attacking Hillary because shes a woman. This can just get rid of all of these attacks that Trumps out there hitting her because shes a woman, that Trump hates her or whatever.

This was old news I certainly knew about it. Limbaugh didn’t need to do this the day after Trump victories.
Maybe someday we can do “experiments” on Rush.
Since WHEN DID the GOPe become conservative, I am SICK TO DEATH of their using the CONSERVATIVE mantra AFTER passing that obnoxious budget!!! GIVE ME A BREAK!!! These DAMNED cockroaches DON’T have a CONSERVATIVE bone in their CROOKED bodies!!!!
Does the organ grinder attack the dancing monkey?
he paid for the dance.
I don’t know, Sanders is still pretty much in the game on the other side. You are right about the rest of it. Rush has been pissing me off with his Trumpist tag that he has been using.
The more important point to all of this is that people are so mad at politicians for selling out America that they will take a candidate with flaws because they believe he actually loves the country we used to have and wants to take it back to it’s glory days.
And, if you will please, pass it on!
I AM A CONSERVATIVE, and so is Senator Cruz. The GOPe may not be, but then neither is Trump. Can you give me a reason to support him that doesn’t involve capitalized epithets?
Oh, Bernie is in it insofar as he continues to beat her in primaries where people actually vote. But Dems have that whole “Superdelegate” thing going that pretty much assures her the nomination unless those “Superdelegates” become afraid or disenchanted enough to give their votes elsewhere. I don’t think, tho, that they’d go to Bernie.
This has been the most exciting primary season of my very long lifetime!!
I think Savage is the exception to me at least.
Now Rush had Mark Billing on today and he has the same sentiment, gee, Ryan is still not backing Trump he says they have things to work out yet.
BS..
Its too bad I have learned a lot from Rush. What gives? Money.
Just choose between the one who based his life upon capitalism or the one who deigns to destroy it.
Limbaugh and others like him are just examples of how the oligarchy hold on to their power. Speech is not free in this country, it takes millions of dollars to own a radio or television program and that is how they keep the power. You have to go through the FCC to get a radio and television license which means you also have to jump through the political hoops. I liked Limbaugh but I really didn’t know him. C’est la vie.
“If Hillary wins, everyone will be pissed and need a place to listen to sanity. So its not in Rushs interest to actually have a conservative win!”
Precisely. They all want to stay in business.
Rush is entertainment and I occasionally listen but not that often these days. However when I do, I never forget two things. First, when W was running in 2000 many of us questioned his convservatism. Rush took to the airwaves and assured us that he's met Bush in private and he's a rock ribbed conservative, why he says things that are so far to the right that Rush simply couldnt believe it but he just can't say that stuff in public but you gotta trust Rush on this one, he's a hard core conservative! A little exaggeration there, not much though. We all know at this point that was pure nonsense; either Rush was making it up or he got played. Second, after Bush managed to be so bad in his second term that he lost both the house and the senate Rush expressed relief that he didn't have to carry the GOPe water anymore now that they lost. I actually was pleased to hear it, pleased that he might have had an epiphany and start to fight back at the liberal snakes that took over the GOP, including the Bushes. But alas, his was a momentary lapse, he was right back on the reservation in short order.
Look, the guy is tied in and connected to the establishment. He's jetting to meals with Chuch Schumer and Lindsay Graham and sitting in the luxury boxes of uber liberals. He is a republican at least as much if not more than a conservative. In fact based on his anger and frustration at the 2006 congressional election losses where he admitted he "carried the water" of candidates he considered unworthy, one can argue he's a party loyalist first, principled conservative second. He has carried that GOPe water before and he will again. Recognize that and you can appreciate the entertainment value for what it is.
If they violated the law, took money, and use air time to specifically support a candidate, then the radio personalities who took the money are douche-bags. Unless you are a radio personality, I am not "crapping on you". Did you read the article?
Rush the ultimate Republican is undermining the presumed Republican nominee showing his hypocrisy. He was never with the average Republican he was with the party bosses.
You don’t have to hate people to run against them in politics. This is actually a sports concept that has crept into modern politics, hate the opponent.
The only necessary condition for opposing somebody in politics is to believe that your ideas are better than their ideas.
I dislike Hillary Clinton but I wouldn’t say that I hate her, and I get Bill Clinton as a man but figure him to be well to the left of his centrist facade that worked for him in presidential elections.
Here in Canada, I am sure I would enjoy a short conversation or a beer with our new PM and I don’t feel any hatred towards him, but I profoundly disagree with his political views. There are people in politics worthy of hatred, if they pose as something much different from what they are, or if they take away basic liberties and impose a form of tyranny. Of course the rhetoric is that the left is already there, but it’s a matter of degrees, we are all freely walking around and more or less free to express our views.
As to the “experiment” of seeing what people thought of Trump’s earlier views, the guy has clearly come to some new conclusions and this is all that matters to me, what he thinks now, not what he thought then. They don’t call the capital of Minnesota St. Saul — think about that.
He is going to beat the crap out of Hillary and we are going to have a ringside seat.
Great image!
I think Trump will peak after the 2020 election.
