I truly cannot imagine anyone giving someone a sympathy vote, especially considering how strongly people feel this election cycle.

The first time I saw this raised I said no way.

A lot of people liked Bill Clinton as president and might vote for hillary hoping that he would have say on the issues. I'm not sure that his dying would get her a sympathy vote. A lot of folks would wonder if she'd be any kind of leader at all without hubby's coat tails.
