Nobody is going to vote for that phony Romney. He certainly has no chance of winning, but in a swing state or two he could very well take enough votes away from Trump to give Hillary the win.

Mitt will not run—if he wanted the job—he would have entered the list of the 17 -— Unless he gets some good backing he will not run.

Romney doing that would be framed as the elite supporting hillary and ganging up on US voters to keep power for the elitists. Already, Sanders supporters and undecideds are uneasy that hillary is preferred over Trump by the most hated pols in America.
Bottom line....it would feed right into Trump's "rigged system" meme. Evidence...in many states, Sanders and Trump won BOTH primaries. That means that a strong majority of US voters are voting against the status quo.
