I'll gladly pay the extra for first class when I'm flying on vacation because there is nothing that kills that relaxed vacation feeling faster than a couple of hours in coach.

I’m flying Mrs Gamecock to Hawaii in first, for our 29th anniversary.
Cost?
160,000 frequent flyer miles and $40.
I fly first all the time and always cash in miles
I suppose if it was a long flight Id think about the upgrade. But a couple or 3 hours isnt that big of a deal to me.
When I was in the military, I once bought round trip first class tickets to go home on leave. But it turned out the last leg of the journey was on a Braniff DC-3, which had no first class cabin. So the stewardess came and sat with me on takeoff and landing, served me the little airline snacks first, and spent time chatting with me during the flight. Best. First. Class. Ever.
