President Obama’s eldest daughter, Malia, has made a decision about where she will attend college. And she has chosen Harvard University.

Malia, who is due to graduate from high school next month, will enter Harvard in the fall of 2017, the White House said Sunday. She will take a “gap year” before beginning her freshman year at the Cambridge, Mass., school, the Obamas said.

Malia had visited at least a dozen elite public and private colleges, including Columbia (where President Obama earned his bachelor’s degree), Princeton (where first lady Michelle Obama earned hers), Brown, Yale, the University of Pennsylvania, New York University, Stanford, Tufts, Berkeley, Barnard and Wesleyan.

And the annual rate of return on their endowment has been approximately 12% for the past twenty-years.

A gap year can be a very good thing for many young students.

Better than a bunch of freshmen, with no world experience, just taking up space at college; while they try to “find themselves” — and paying tuition for the privilege. (Who knows, some of them might find out that they really do want to take up space — i.e. major in Astrophysics.)

I’d take a gap lifetime rather than major in liberal arts.

I wonder what she’ll be doing during her “gap year?”

Looking for her biological parents?

If she really wanted to be a filmmaker she’d go to USC or CalArts. Those are the top 2 schools for filmmaking. Spielburg and Lucas both graduated from USC.

Most black students at Ivy League schools are the cream of the crop. Their SAT scores are very close to the other scores of the total student body. Harvard & the other Ivies don’t have to lower the standards to any great degree when they are all involved in going after a talent-pool of several thousand black students, worldwide, not just in the USA.

As for the president’s daughter...who knows ? She may fall under the “legacy” induction, and since Harvard’s a private school, more power to them.

A kid from Alabama gets accepted to Harvard. Confused on his first day, he asks an upperclassman, “Excuse me sir. Can you tell me where the library is at?” The upperclassman responds. “I don’t know who you are or how you got here. But this is Harvard, the finest University in the world. We have very high standards. We do not go about ending sentences in prepositions. Rephrase your question.” The new kid says. “Sure thing. Excuse me sir. Can you tell me where the library is at, a$$hole?”

Harvard is really about making social connections and joining an elite club that grants entry into the world of money and power.

These will be the entitled pricks who run the GOPe and the Democrat party in the future. Assuming that they aren’t destroyed by angry mobs before that can happen.

I wonder if any prof at Harvard would dare giving her a grade any less than an “A”? Even in a class such as differential geometry.

A friend of mine went to Chapel Hill when Billy Cunningham did.

They were enrolled in the same advanced calculus class, but my friend never saw Billy in class.

At the end of the semester when the grades were posted, Billy got an A.

One of her “tutors” will help her and she’ll graduate Summa Cum Laude.
