Army Corps of Engineers working with native American tribes to coordinate burial
A local tribe, the Umatilla, had claimed the Kennewick Man as an ancestor; the Native American group wanted to lay the skeleton to rest according to custom.

That whole thing was a very interesting case.
I thought that a court (or an expert) had declared Kennewick man to be Caucasian?
I thought indians cremated their dead.

It gets political. If the truth reveals that the current “Native Americans” weren’t the first people to populate the Americas, then they lose some of their perceived “right” to claim to be the displaced rightful “owners” of the land.
Yeah, that’s what I thought; Kennewick man = a white dude.
Seems I recall Bruce Babbit (Cinton’s secretary of the interior) bulldozed the entire area as it conflicted with the usual narrative of Asiatic people being the original inhabitants of the American continents.
Native Americans as well as Indians are caucasians. There are only 3 true races of humans.
I’m glad they got to study Kennewick man before he was laid to rest-they had a long fight to get to do it.
The DNA testing on Native remains shows that most of them were a mix of Eurasian/Asian/Caucasian from the gitgo-with individuals having varying amounts of those ethnicities/races-Kennewick man apparently had more Caucasian DNA than some others did-so do many Cherokees, and some other tribes even now. I see that as a good thing-that people have always been mixed up-so why the hell are liberals still so hung up on race?
Thank you for saying so as well-I hate to be alone...
There have been many burial sites that have been hidden from us by these ridiculous history hiding laws.
Just one instance:

Not when they can “mark” land as theirs with a body.
They bulldozed it and paved it over with asphalt.
So much for the party of “science.”
His rituals would have been nearly twice as far in the past as Egypt’s First Dynasty. I doubt that an early Pharaoh would value what a modern Egyptian would do for a burial or that a modern Egyptian could guess at most of the right rituals for Menes, Hor-Aha, let alone for an ordinary man from the remote past, other than their surroundings and the mechanics of preparing the body. This is nonsense, but it’s politically correct nonsense so they are going with it.
Just more PC bull****.I doubt if Mr. K was an indian.
Genetic tests done later seem to indicate that he was of Siberian ancestry, having crossed the Bering Strait during the last ice age. We know too little about genetics to make any certain claims, however. I’ve heard Native Americans claim that Native Americans originated in America, which is impossible since a species cannot have two origins. We have evidence of humans originating in Africa.
We have evidence of humans originating in Africa.
From the article - “Using ancient DNA, we were able to show that Kennewick Man is more closely related to Native Americans than any other population”. And the Native Americans are closely related to Asian populations, not European.

Most everyone knows that it was my old,old ancestors from Scotland, that populated North America!
A boat load of them were out fishing and made a wrong turn.
The stubborn SOB’s wouldn’t ask for any directions, never.
Where’s my free stuff? I suspect the Kennewick bones would bring a good buck over on Ebay;I want them now!
So... does this mean that they are responsible for his overdue credit card charges and taxes?
