Er... I have no idea what to say about Connor.
Or Ronda for that matter. I can only assume that she is still on medical suspension.
I’ll be pulling for DC versus Joenes, but that is gonna be a tough gig.
Dude those movie’s she’s making with Lifetime are Female empowerment movie’s WTH is with that I thought she was a Conservatives?
No. Don’t you remember, she endorsed Bernie, not long before she got knocked out. And she’s expressed 9/11 truther beliefs. I don’t know if she’s a committed lib or not but she’s politically....not bright, to say the least.
Those movies (actually it’s like they’re all the same movie, they just change the details a little), they’re all about women being raped or murdered or both, I don’t know why women would want to watch that.
I caught the main event of the Sunday Afternoon’s Fight “Night”, big win for Uberroid.
The Reem seems to beating less horse meat these days, and it looks to have improved his cardio. He will likely get the winner of Werdum/Stipe.
Great fights yesterday. Also anyone else notice that Belleator has been facing massive heat over Kimbo Slice?
*be eating, not beating.
I heard they booked Slice for another fight, I didn’t know the reception was so negative. I’m not surprised, that last fight of his was atrocious, AND he tested positive for roids after and got a slap on the wrist I guess.
I’m looking forward to this Saturday’s card. It’s been almost a year since the last HW title fight. I’m glad Stipe is getting his shot, I thought was robbed against JDS and should have gotten it already.
I didn’t know about it either.
It’s time for Kimbo to go, for the good of the sport.
Someone almost died last time during one of these bum fights. No one needs that.
I am thinking I might boycott any card with Kimbo on it.
Enough.
Guys UFC up for sell what the heck?
Woah!
“ESPN reports that at least four companies have submitted bids to purchase the Las Vegas-based organization, and that the UFCs final valuation could land between $3.5 and $4 billion.
The bidders reportedly on the short list of potential purchasers are: Blackstone Group, an American corporation based in New York City; China Media Capital, a state-backed venture capital firm based in Beijing; WME/IMG, a management company which represents numerous athletes, including former UFC champion Ronda Rousey; and Dalian Wanda Group, a Chinese conglomerate which last year purchased Hollywoods Legendary Entertainment for a rumored $3.5 billion.”
I just hope any ownership change improves the product rather than screws it up.
Whoever buys it I hope they go back to the hold shorts.
I hate the new white/ black - black/ white junk.
I pray it’s not the WWE
The Reebok deal has been bad for everyone, except Dana and co. Some fighters have signed with other organizations because they could make money with their normal sponsors. If another corporation buys the UFC, I hope they will not renew this horrid deal.
In other news, looks like Anderson Silva is out: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mma-cagewriter/anderson-silva-out-of-ufc-189—may-need-gall-bladder-surgery-005830365.html
Oops I meant to say old shorts, not hold shorts.
But yeah, I’m not sure why they signed that deal. It sort of makes every fight look the same.
Like they are fighting in their corporate uniforms. Hate it!
I miss the tapout shirts
Dana White came out with a statement saying the UFC is not for sale so something is definitely up for sure.
Ah crap. Mere days before the fight. My mom had gall bladder surgery 25-30 years ago. It’s no little thing. I guess he’s fortunate he didn’t go into the cage with a problem, that could have been very bad for him, a kick to the midsection... I hope they find a last second replacement to keep Hall on the card.
As for the alleged sale, my guess is maybe they are thinking about it and just beginning a sounding out process (I would imagine this happens all the time in the corporate world, they are always looking to buy and sell each other, that doesn’t mean it will happen) and someone got ahead of themselves with this report.
If they are ever sold, WWE would be my nightmare, yuck. I would hope new ownership would ditch the highly unpopular reebok deal.
