Tomatoes (Sun Gold cherry, Cherokee Purple, Russian Black Krim, Mortgage Lifter, Husky Red Cherry) just bustin after all this rain, I’ve snacked on 7-8 SunGold: brilliant orange, green seeds, sweet as sugar wuth an acidic tickle.
Peas: should harvest 1lb in a couple days. Little Marvel.
Lettuce, spinach, radishes already harvesting.
Exotic and heirloom squashes opening male flowers.
Peppers fruiting and some ready to eat.
Thornless Arapahoe blackberries taking their time but thornful ones growing berries. Snatching single strawberries almost everyday until flush crop throws. Fig trees 2yos coming down with rust.. I trim it off.
Sugar cube personal cantaloupes throwing buds and tendrils.
Muncher cukes throwing secondary leaves. Soybeans already have soybeans. Collection of 20 different flowering vines goin nuts.
Have to re-fertilize everything after the nonstop rains the last week.
That’s a lot of stuff. You are far ahead of us.
I don’t know whether I’m early, late or just right. Crazy weather in Delaware this month. It even snowed one day. Anyway, I’ve planted green beans this week from seedlings. Tomorrow goes the cucumbers. Sunday or Monday, peppers and asparagus. Hoping to get the new bed in quickly so I can put in the tomatoes, lettuce and herbs.
Trying something new this year. Instead of random planting, I’m using mushroom compost in a raised row and no mulch.
