That scam's been around for a year or so. Whenever someone contacts me by phone, for anything, I ask them to send me literature. The real Microsoft has access to that through billing information. What they don't have direct access to is my phone number.

The strangest scam is the offer for free home security systems. Why THE HECK would anyone let a stranger on the phone know if they didn't have home security?
