ESTES PARK, Colo. A man visiting the hotel that inspired the Stephen King novel The Shining captured a haunting image during a recent stay at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado.
Henry Yau was taking a panoramic photo of the hotels grand stairwell and lobby, according to KPRC. He did not notice anyone walking down the stairs when he took the image, however when he looked at his picture the next day he saw the ghostly figure, according to KUSA.

LOL!
Good thing he’s already dead or he might have gotten killed.
Dust on the lens.
Lol
lolololololsnortlololololol.....
Movie was pretty close to the book, but the book scared the crap out of me. The movie... not so much. (I saw the movie before reading the book.)
“Even ghosts need to be careful on stairs.”
That’s insensitive, maybe that’s how he died and he has to spend eternity falling down the stairs
“Movie was pretty close to the book, but the book scared the crap out of me. The movie... not so much. (I saw the movie before reading the book.)”
Did you see the TV mini series? He had the good old croquet mallet
Isn't that a song by Kansas?
Lol!
No. That is “Could Have Been Obama’s Son.” But that was before he rose above the noise and confusion.
Now this is something scary. Check out the front page of the New York Post (Tuesday):

Was the book THE SHINING inspired by Guy De Maupassant’s short story THE INN in which two men who, in winter, were to take care of a small isolated Swiss inn, and one of them slowly goes mad?
I don’t see that connection on a brief search. What I did find is that the child actor (Danny in the movie) had just one more role then quit acting after that second journey. He became a teacher according to IMDB.
Isn't that a song by Kansas?
I dunno.
Closest song title I remember is "Ghost Riders in the Sky" (click here) sung by Vaughn Monroe back about 1950. In my early impressionable 'teens, it scared the aitch eee double toothpicks out of me.
Maybe that's what he caught on film.
see how there are blurs above and below all the lights?
The ‘ghost’ is just the bottom half of one blur (where the light is just out of the picture, above)
Is the world really getting THIS STUPID?
No wonder aliens won’t talk to us...
I don’t think the guy dressed in black at the top of the staircase is a lens flare.
no the white mist is lens flare the ‘guy’ dressed in black is shadow play
Didn’t see the mini-series and didn’t even know there was one. In the book, when the topiary animals became “alive” — freaked me out. The concept isn’t that freaky, but the writing was excellent.
