If Ted Cruz were to win the GOP Nomination on the 2nd ballot or further down the line, he will have won the GOP nomination based on STOPPING Trump, not SUPPORTING Ted. That's not really a great way to win is it? Also, if he couldn't beat Trump at the ballot box, how will he beat Hillary?
When are some of you going to realize Ted Cruz isnt the principled conservative he pretends to be?
The vanity question was.....could Cruz beat Hillary if he won the nomination at the convention.
I said Cruz had the organization, determination and "smarts" to do it if he had the backing of Republicans that didn't want a Socialist in the White House.
I expounded on my thinking of Trump beating Hillary should he get to 1237 before the convention........finishing with what I thought it would take for a non-Trump/non-Cruz GOPe backed candidate to beat Hillary
Nowhere in my post did I mention anything about "principled conservatives".
And the only "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss" is if Hillary or Bernie get into the White House. I would finish off a fifth of whiskey, hold my nose, carry a barf bag and vote "Bawlin' Boehner" if I thought he could keep that from happening.
Trump will be crushed by Clinton in the fall IF he the nominee.
******************
You may be correct, “if he the nominee”. Now name someone that will crush Clinton in the fall,
in your opinion. Can you do that for us and maybe furnish a couple of reasons that would happen.
Mississippi is 40% black
Whoever GOP IS USUALLY GETS 90% of white vote which means 54% of the electorate
McCain got 55 percent of the general
Romney got 54% of the general
No twenty point spreads lately there trust me....
Nobody in Dixie has drawn crowds like Trump since Elvis or Lynyrd Skynyrd or Billy Graham
No presidential candidate has had registration sign ups or crossovers or primary turnout like Trump in the South and likely will in the northeast
You guys discount all that over and over like nothing and in the face of an opposition the likes of which no one has since since I have been alive ....1957
Basically everyone in the media except a handful and both parties and 95% of the pundit class yet he keeps rolling
Why?
Because he has support and enthusiasm way beyond anyone in a very long time
General election polls right now are worthless
Primary voting results and turnout are not
Nope she will vote for the constitutional party candidate, she is done voting for limbs, mew saw his act up close in NJ.
She thinks he is one step removed from Bill Clinton.
Too bad.
How about you?
I don’t know that anyone will crush Clnton. I think Cruz could win, Cruz won’t motivate the rat base the way Trump will.
OTOH Trump’s scorched earth campaign may make it impossible for anyone to win.
Just like every other GOP candidate since Reagan: we may not like the candidate, but he’s still way better than the alternative (the Democratic candidate). Fight like he11 to get the candidate we want, then fight like he11 to elect the candidate we’ve got.
Most women I know support Trump
70% of women, including my wife cant stand the guy.
Your wife ... what a shocker!
LOLOLOLOLOL
I don’t believe that push poll for a minute!
I’ve been to one of Mr. Trump’s YUGE Events and guess what? Women comprised at least half of the attendance!

So polls that have Trump ahead are good polls, polls that highlight his weaknesses are push polls, got it. :D
So a little simple math, pubs are roughly 50% of voting public,
Trump has gotten ~37% of the pub vote
So .5 x .37 = 18.5%, since the polls show 30% support among women, both cases could be true.
Isn’t math fun?
Don’t tell Leto.
I take issue with ONE push poll that MSM and Trump enemies continue to cite and nauseously repeat and you reply with THAT?
Get real.
Sounds like his whining about CO worked.

The guy’s negatives among women have been over 60% for months in multiple polls the latest bring at 70%.
If you want to delude yourself be my guest.
I don’t know if he’ll win in November or not, but I do know that in my little South Carolina county a significant number of Democrats crossed over and voted in the Republican primary which Trump won. I don’t like open primaries and I don’t like the other party choosing my party’s candidate.
Probably most of them are just fed-up Americans who see a guy they’d like to become President. But since their political values are pretty much the antithesis of mine, I have to consider that “their” guy’s policies need to be scrutinized very carefully.
Of course, they’ll vote for Hillary in the general but my guess is that they’ll be satisfied with which ever way things go in November. Unfortunately, America and all she stands for hangs in the balance.
The last was Reagan and Ford and that was because it was a legitimate split between the delegates.
That was in 1976.
Ford, an incumbent President, lost that election by the way.
So, how many convention battles have there been since 1976?
So, don't go back to convention fights before there were primaries!
Primaries were instituted to stop convention battles where insiders made the decisions and deals were cut.
It’s just a small sample of GOP primary voters.
Cruz’s delegate shenanigans “within the rules” are losing him an irretrievable amount of “good will” with voters, but he circumvents the voters anyway, so WTH.
