a Cinderella type of season. With little hope of even making the playoffs, the Pens turned it all around and began winning. The coaching change was huge.
They are amazing to watch. No one else could keep up. The Sharks were the fastest team out west but they are floundering with the Pens.

Sad that promoting destructive behavior is advertised and promoted. I’d say the NHL almost requires it. After watching Canadian tv media interviews a few years ago, it seemed like it was a firewall requirement for interviews.
I expect if/when the Pens win the cup we’ll see this in Pittsburgh too. Hope not.

Unfortunately the NHL has gone totally PC. I am surprised that they allow Don Cherry on their Hockey Night in Canada broadcasts. He is a breath of fresh air.
This Ranger fan has gained a lot of respect for the Penguins. I never thought I would say that.
Go Pens

I admit to not listening to Coach’s Corner very often but Don Cherry seems like he is anti-non-Canadians.
Last summer this Stanley Cup run was unimaginable. Now it’s reality. It just shows that teams are never as good or as bad as they seem at the moment.
I was glad we got past the Rangers, they had our number for too many years!

There has been some local commentary on that. The Sharks used their speed against their opponents to take the Western Conference, however they never had to play against it themselves. They were ill prepared to deal with it, whereas there are a number of teams in the Eastern Conference that have young legs and speed.
I agree with that assessment. I think if they had had regular season experience with a fast team, they would have been more prepared to take on the Pens.
Then again, I don't think I have ever seen such a fast team before. I might be biased as a Pens fan, but I just don't remember play like this.

Game 5 - Lord Stanleys Cup IS in Pittsburgh!
Stanley Cup mania is full swing here. They say thousands of people are already outside Consol. I’m so excited and hope the Pens can close it out today.
If they do, the Con Smythe will be a surprise that’s not a surprise. I listen to both American and Canadian media and both sets believe that they are the one who truly understand how misunderstood Phil Kessel is. The Kessel story is one both sets of media love. I expect he would win it in a landslide.
I expect to see Sharks fans too. They are diehard and rightly proud of their team. I expect the Sharks will not go quietly into the night but into it I hope they go!

I’m inside the arena and they showed a picture of the crowd outside. Looks like 20,000 people. The big screen won’t be big enough.
If you can watch the NHL channel, they usually are good.

What a deliberate game the Sharks played though the Pens had some chances, not many.
To: BeadCounter
Meanwhile, these two NHL teams ECHL affiliates played game 6 of the Kelly Cup finals last night, and my
Allen Americans won it again!!!!!
Allen is San Joses affiliate and Wheeling is the Pens affiliate. And even though Allen is Sharks Territory, as a Stars fan I just can NOT root for them. Go Pens!!!!

Very nice! Another Allen Americans fan.
Were you at the game last night? My family and I were there. That was the fourth time we witnessed the Americans lift a championship cup over their heads.

LOL... I sure do understand that \./
We were on the end where the players come onto the ice. I know the guys that sit behind the visitor bench. You know... The obnoxious ones.
