Hell hath no fury like an angry Southern mom.
Taking away electronics is a common parental punishment, but this mother decided to take it one step further - and shoot up her children's iPhones with a rifle.
I hereby denounce the effects that social media have on my children, the mom shouts at the beginning of the video, a gun in her hand. Their disobedience and their disrespect.
With perfect aim she blows the smartphone to smithereens, as its pieces go flying into the grass.
Set it up, she orders, as the man behind the camera begins to gather the pieces on the ground.
Still recording? she asks, Yes mam,' he dutifully replies, showing viewers a cracked iPhone screen.
The mother reveals one of her children has left but then the camera shows two teens, a boy and a girl, are still here - watching as the only outlet theyve ever known to a social life disappears.
I also take back my role as parent to my children, she then yells, not quite explaining just what that would entail.
Meanwhile a boy, presumed to be one of her sons, returns to the scene and gives the middle finger to the camera.
I refuse to be cursed, the mother begins again. I refuse to be disobeyed. I take back my role as your parent.'
'Get a shot of them, she orders, as the camera pans to reveal the three angry children standing with their arms crossed, until one flips a double bird again.
She then points the gun and the camera moves to reveal that shes not about to shoot a pheasant or a bottle, but is aiming straight for an iPhone perched on a tree trunk.

In 1964 she’d have been blowing away Beatles records.
Mom is rather nasty looking and has a tattoo on her arm. She ain’t no June Cleaver.
Video recorded with a VHS camera, no doubt, not an IPhone.
The electronic appendages are far worse.
Many parents have wanted to do this.
Kids stay glued to these things 24/7.
Pounding the kids with a sledgehammer was a bit much.
They were big kids.
I refuse to be cursed, the mother tells her children. I refuse to be disobeyed. I take back my role as your parent.' She then blows the remnants of the iPhone to bits, once again hitting it on her first shot
The son who was flipping the bird is fortunate she didn’t blow him to smithereens. Social media has made a defective generation worse.
No, but she should have used a June cleaver on them. Or a July cleaver.
("And if you cleave me know, you'll take away the biggest part of me....")
Okay, I'm gone.
Damn!
And if you cleave me now,
Go to your room
Are you giving me the business?
Anything left put it on top, she orders as the man behind the camera picks up the touch screen and back casing of the smartphone.
My childrens lives are more important to me, she begins, as the camera reveals she is standing over the trunk with a sledgehammer, than any electronic on this earth.
Good for you, one of the children interrupts. We still dont give two f***s.
I refuse to have them influenced in negative ways,' the mother continues.
'Contacting people they dont know, being involved in drama they dont need to be in, and being in trouble at school for having phones out.
She then hammers the remaining pieces a few times, her dog watching, before screaming: Im done!
And with that, she drops the hammer and walks away.
Well, that was interesting. I feel a little sorry for her. I don’t know how effective “I refuse to be cursed, I refuse to be disobeyed” will be without a backup plan.
Sadly, she would not appear to have been setting a good example. The giant tatoo tells me that it’s ok for HER to go along with societal fads, but not her kids. The shirt that exposes her undergarments is not a terribly respectful display for either sons or daughter.
Although I feel her frustration and think it’s great to try and change things, she needs to set a better example.
Beatles records were being burned in 1966 or 1967. Remember the “We’re more popular than Jesus!” statement!
When I retired, I shot my cell phone with my Redhawk. Felt good. Had been on 24/7 call for 30 years. If the phone rang, it meant trouble!
Damn!
I guess nobody (sane) will ever pick a fight with her.
The whole thing sounds so stilted and staged, I suspect she’s counting on making money somehow from this video.
