There's a Smidgen of Churchill in Trump [arthur march vanity]

Posted on 03/29/2016 7:37:29 AM PDT by Arthur Wildfire! March

Winston Churchill sounded the alarm -- Hitler was dangerous and his movement could have been strangled in its infancy.

Now we have a vindicated Donald Trump.

While not even close to 'the next Churchill' at this moment, he did accurately sound the alarm --

Europe is in danger.

The Brussel's attack made him appear downright prophetic, espcially since the New York Times had mocked him specifically about Brussels being a hellhole.

Rush Limbaugh pointed that out yesterday [much to the ire of Cruz supporters]. Rush even made the point of adding that the Establishment views Europe as a fairy wonderland even though places like Paris and Brussels are trashed [by muslims who refuse to assimilate].

~~~
Churchill and Allies
Lobbing verbal grenades at your allies probably seems very 'un-Churchill-like' to many I suspect.
Regarding Trump wanting allies to pay more, someone pointed out to me:
'It's a lot more than just revenue flow Arthur.....'
These moments often tickle me not only because geopolitics is one of my interests but also because 'luck' often brings me useful information in advance.
Sometimes the Lord helps when you pray for guidance.
A few weeks ago I found a history book for $1 at a discount store:
"Pearl Harbor Christmas" by Stanley Weintraub.
Prior to Pearl Harbor, Churchill had no choice but to meekly beg FDR for aid. And the President had to finesse his assistance due to massive anti-war sentiment and a weak economy.
Digressing a moment: Nazis were probably the prime catalysts of our anti-war movement. Without their meddling, we would have been more united and better prepared -- countless lives saved. The new anti-war ring leaders could arguably be the Saudi Prince Alwaleed [who has enormous influence over FoxNews and other media] and Soros [the ultimate globalist].
So there was Winston Churchill, hand-in-hat, beggging us for aid.
Then came Pearl Harbor.
Churchill held a secret 'strategy' session -- how to handle negotiations with FDR.*
His advisors recommended that they simply repeat their requests with no deviation.
Sir Allen Brooke noticed the Prime Minister's reaction: "a wicked gleam in his eye".
"Oh!" said Churchill, "That is the way we talked to her while we were wooing her; now that she's in the harem we talk to her quite differently."
~~~

Winston Churchill meets 'Art of the Deal'. Treating her like she's 'part of the harem' counts triple when you are the dominant ally who is further from danger.

[Many of you 'get it' already. But for those who don't yet I'll lay it out.]

Back when we produced half the world's GDP we could afford to be generous. No longer.

Just as the British Empire strained her resources fighting off the world's greatest earthly evils, now we appear to be in the same situation.

While it is Keynesian economics that have sunk us and Europe and Japan into debt, US bond interest rates will improve more quickly if we shed off our cavalier attitude toward spending.

So Trump can kill two birds with one stone:

Help restore faith in US bonds and prod our allies into bearing more of the defense costs.

And there's a third winged target in the sky: negotiation leverage.

Our allies could appease Trump through better tariff rates and trade alliances which help the USA.

~~~
"But the alliances will fall apart!"
That has been the fear.
But Trump puts the monkey on their backs and goads them into self-awareness. It exposes the flaws in their own economies as well.
We've been the sugar daddy for far too long, the enabler of riotous living. It is time for Europe to get working again and sort out its flawed priorities.
~~~

Conclusion:

Even if Trump had not calculated everything the way I just did, his overall strategy works for itself. Putting other nations on the defensive gives you 'center control' of the chess board.

There is a time to be friendly toward other nations. But one must be dynamic, willing to shift perspective.

Only a corrupt government sits idle like our ships at Pearl Harbor. They have all the time in the world to scheme.

Current diplomats already panic at the thought of how to hold our 'frayed alliances' together under Trump. They vow to resign and should do so when he's elected.

Trump and the ‘Vision Thing’ regarding Immigration

Trump Effigies Burned in Mexico for Easter ‘Celebrations’
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3414504/posts

[That should say it all, but ...]

[quote]

As far back as 2000, in his book, The America We Deserve, [Trump] condemned illegal immigration, said that illegals needed to leave the country, and insisted we should put the interests of Americans before those of immigrants (even legal ones). By 2011 in the chapter, ‘It’s Called Illegal Immigration for a Reason,’ in his book Time to Get Tough, Trump came down very hardline on the border, saying we need to build a wall, greatly increase border patrol agents, deport illegal criminals, stop giving anchor babies citizenship, etc. So, yes, I think his calling for the border to be secured for the last 16 years is long enough for me to trust that he will actually do it, especially considering all the heat he’s taken for his position. — FenwickBabbitt

Repost of Marvin Stinson ...

[quote]

Andrea Mitchell was rabid for the US intervention in Libya.
She was screaming “R2P, R2P” with greaty excitement when it started.

[R2P stands for Soros’ “Responsibility To Protect’, which claims to mean responsibility to protect against genocide. But there was no genocide in Libya, only Khadafi fighting against rabid muslim terrorists from outside Libya.]

Samantha Power wrote a book in which she coined the term. In the same book she advocated using the US military to occupy Israel with “a mammoth force” and forcing Israel to give the ‘palestinians’ whatever they want.

Soros liked that and installed Samantha Power as the main foreign policy adviser to his stooge Obama.

Today Samantha “Mammoth Force” Power is the US ambassador to the UN.

LOL, no. There is not the slightest bit about Trump that can hold a candle to Churchill.

You have read some of Trump’s books, and I’m curious if you have any thoughts.

Churchill?
Winston Churchill?
Sir Winston Churchill?
Sir Leonard Spencer-Churchill?

Just trying to make sure we are talking about the same Winston Churchill here.

The Churchill that never had a job outside of government? Now that’s a good thing?

I hope he’s not inspired to get matching his/hers tattoos of Churchill as Ted has done with his female staff:

Yup. There is that smidgen that I recognize as “Churchill” in Trump. He has the guts to say things that no one else dares say.

To all Cruz supporters:

God bless you.

I have frequently pointed out that my honorable opposition is only over the top because you are patriots who care deeply about the USA.

The greater the anger, the greater the devotion to freedom. Best to assume that. It helps us think of each other in the best possible light.

While not even close to 'the next Churchill'...

I agree with you on that point.

...he did accurately sound the alarm

Not sure this is some great revaluation that had gone unnoticed for years prior.

Good one!

It is best that we not take our candidates too seriously.

Limited government requires limited respect for government [and candidates].

Well in that area, our candidates are succeeding brilliantly.
